“If you don't believe in climate change, go to this once beautiful park.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

So sad. What were once 5 pools are reduced to one now, and it is VERY low. Needless to say this has impacted the wildlife greatly. I did have a couple of great bird sightings, but in prior years I would have seen many more.

“Great picnic with ducks and turtles!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2013

What a delight! A true oasis in the desert. One of the three old hot springs still exists and the ponds are lovely. Find a table in the shade, read, explore, and bring your picnic lunch. Open play areas and soft shaded relaxing in an otherwise dry desert region.

“Perfect for a picnic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

We explored this desert oasis one March evening when the daytime temperature was 80 degrees, and the oasis felt cool and lovely. The ducks and the turtles entertained us at our picnic table until it was time to walk along the paths and watch the sunset. Highly recommend this little-known county park in extreme eastern Tucson area. Uncrowded, easy to sit and relax in the shade of giant palm trees, fun to watch the kids watch the wildlife.

“Oasis in the desert”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

This was a delightful surprise. An Oasis in the dessert with lake, palm trees, some wonderful birds and a bit of wildlife. I loved the dozens of turtles sunning on a big log near the bridge. We saw a few white and blue herons. Lots of pic nick spots and nice walking trails. but don't go on a Monday or Tuesday because the visitors center, ranch and art gallery are closed. The walking and hiking trails are in the back of the pic nick area and parking lot. Some areas are closed off now because people do not respect the fauna. Be sure to bring your camera.
