“Oasis in the desert”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This was a delightful surprise. An Oasis in the dessert with lake, palm trees, some wonderful birds and a bit of wildlife. I loved the dozens of turtles sunning on a big log near the bridge. We saw a few white and blue herons. Lots of pic nick spots and nice walking trails. but don't go on a Monday or Tuesday because the visitors center, ranch and art gallery are closed. The walking and hiking trails are in the back of the pic nick area and parking lot. Some areas are closed off now because people do not respect the fauna. Be sure to bring your camera.

“Beautiful View”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

But, this is a heck of a climb - so if not in shape, take another trail. I would just say that one might spend so much navigating the narrow mountain trail that you don't see as much as when on a flatter trail.

“Surprising park”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Way east side park that is worth the drive. An unusual oasis of ponds, palms and wildlife. This is a popular birding spot. Great for a picnic too on the expanses of grass. No bbq that I remember. Good facilities/water/restrooms. Great gift shop. No cost to enter.

“Interesting to see this oasis”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Drove all the way from I-10 to the eastern part of Tucson. The place was quiet, the water murky and there wasn't a very large area to walk or hike to get some exercise. Still, if you are looking to do something, it is odd to see this oasis.....

“Neat stop in Tucson”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

Cool park with a natrual spring at it. Palm trees, and picnic tables. Really neat it's just in the middle of the desert. Nice place to walk around and have a picnic.
