This was our second trip to Sabino Canyon. The tram ride to the top is awesome! We hiked down to the river at the top then climbed the boulders back to the road. Beautiful!

Nice hike, we went during an extremely dry period so the falls were pretty small. The tram system works nicely, but make sure you're on the right one if you want to hike to the falls. Nice visitor center, but small parking area. Not sure if it was the time of the day we started (about noon), drought conditions, day of the week (Thurs) or the fact that many people don't hike, but we saw very few people along most of the trails.

This is a convenient spot for easy to hard hiking with a tram available to take you to various stops within the canyon. There are nature group hikes led by docents that take ~3 hours at different levels of difficulty each Tuesday through Thursday mornings. There are many trails that are at various difficulties and facility stops along the main road throughout the canyon. Parking is free with many types of passes including the National Park Pass.

Having enjoyed Sabino Canyon at least one dozen times, it simply doesn't get old. Tram up the canyon is a great way to get a sense of the hours ahead. Ride, hike, walk or run down. All good and always something new to see. Pay attention and be prepared with water and energy bars. And, do NOT forget a good pair of shoes (no sandals). If you time your visit right, you'll be able to enjoy flowing water at several places on your way back down. Absolutely a highlight for adults and children alike. Highly recommend!

Good coaching from the Visitor's Cenrtre staff on suitable hikes for ability/time factors. Tram ride up the canyon was informative and changing scenery along the way. Good views overlooking Tucson and does not require a high time commitment to get there from the city. Recommend for about a 3 hour outing(if hiking).
