...Sabino Canyon would be far better known and much more crowded. Luckily for us and other visitors to Sabino Canyon, Grand Canyon draws both attention and crowds away from the smaller and lesser known canyons of Arizona. We took the trolley and hiked the Phone Line Trail back to the visitors center. This canyon is such a beautiful place, the views are amazing, and you'll be surrounded by saguaros, sandstone cliffs and wildlife. It seems Sabino Canyon is a bit of a well-kept secret among the locals, and perhaps I shouldn't even be writing this positive review. But this place is really worth the praise. Be sure to bring enough water though, especially if you're going during hot weather. We had brought too little (most danes are not used to deserts!) and were pretty dehydrated once we got to the visitors centre, so we headed directly for the vending machines in order to quench our thirst.

A lovely place to escape from the city, road or just go for a nice walk among the hills. For the $5 entrance fee we walked for 6 hours enjoying the (picturesque) main walk in to canyon itself and then down to the small Sabino dam. They were only a couple of the options available and the trolley meant that it is available for all fitness levels.

It's well worth a visit in you are in the area (for families, groups and parties of all ages).

Beautiful natural surroundings with mountains, streams, flora and fauna. Not unusual to see wild animals.

I love love love Sabino Canyon. I have done many hikes here and just enjoy taking the tram sometimes. I would encourage you to get off the tram and take part on one of the lovely day hikes. The spring brings great weather. If you hike it in the summer, take plenty of water! You must do this if you are in Tucson...if you have one day in Tucson....you must do this!

This is a wonderful park. You can walk in or pay for a tram that makes nine stops. We went to the top and hiked down. The river that runs through the canyon offers cooling moments. The setting is magnificent. We wishes we had more time to explore more. Bring a picnic and a bathing suit and plan to be there all day.
