“Take the tram ride to see the canyon”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

The tram ride was a lot of fun, especially since the rain of the previous day was washing over some of the bridges and those on foot either got wet shoes or stopped and went back. Lots of great desert sights on the ride and other trails in the canyon. Seems to be a popular place as the parking lot was packed before 10am on a Sunday.

“A must if you are in the area”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

We visited on a day when there was thunder and lightening with torrential rain, not in all honesty to be recommended. However, I have to say we enjoyed our trip on the shuttle bus, even if we couldn't get off to do some hiking. We would go back if we were in the area again.

Sabino Canyon is a place everyone no matter their age enjoys because of its raw beauty. You can take a 45-minute narrative tram ($8 for adults) deep into one of the most beautiful canyons and return to the parking lot or you can stop along the way to walk along the road or simply have a picnic. If hiking is more your style, find one of the many trails that will lead you to waterfalls or mtn peaks! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, take more water than you think you’ll need, appropriate clothing and a camera! The canyon constantly changes depending on the sun’s (or moon’s) angle so you can visit Sabino everyday but it will look different every time. This was one of my favorite places as a teenager and after moving away, was the place I would always visit whenever I was in town.

“Fun for all experience levels”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

The tram ride up into the canyon was informative and easy going. Being able to get off at any of the designated drop/pickup points made for a nice cross between hiking and riding. There is a variety of hiking, follow the road back down the canyon after being dropped of by the tram, or select in number of trail hikes and spend the day.

$8.00 for the tram ride and unlimited riding as long as you stay above the tram initial start point.

Tram drivers gave a bit of a canned tour on the way up the canyon, informative but a little shy on the delivery.

“can get crowded”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

We arrived on a weekday morning after 4 days of freezing weather, the place was crazy, guess folks wanted to be back out once the temp went up. the canyon itself is very interesting and scenic. We had a nice hike along the creek and learned a lot at the Visitor's Center, but not the place to be if you want a solitary hike.
