Unbelievable.... the owner could care a less about customer satisfaction... tried to talk to him about poor food and he just shrugged his shoulders and said to come back and try something else next time and walked away - so rude... never go there! The worst food and even worse service - yuck! He won't make it 6months!

“We are regular customers- great, unpretentious atmosphere”
Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I have been regular customers for a couple of years now and I beg to disagree with the pretentious reviews in the poor and terrible categories. This is not a sit down restaurant where you are waited on hand and foot like those reviewers seem to be accustomed to- this is a place where the menu is simple yet delicious and is ordered at the cashier counter. Yes there is a minimal wait staff that will bring you your food and refill your drinks but is a very relaxed atmosphere. You can go there to study, watch a game, or simply grab a few drinks with friends. If you're looking for sit down full service, this is not it. But if you are looking for great food every time, inexpensive drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere, then this is the right place.

“What are they doing at Dry River?”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

My husband and I went to Dry River a opule Friday's ago. We are owners of a restaurant that has entertainment., so we are little critical when there are issues.

The pizza was A-. The pizza had a great taste, but was put together sloppy. It would have been better if every bite was great tasting. Perhaps the pizza was dropped before it went in the oven. They might want to teach the cook that you eat with your eyes before your mouth.

Friday night and there was a live band with a woman singer called KC Monroe. I hate to say it, but the band sucked. There is no other way to say it. We are used to bands in LA and Chicago. The sound was quite empty and the singer sounded like a Karaoke queen who learned three chords and started a band. The lead guitar played some nice licks but played against the wrong chords. It's almost like he wasn't listening to the changes. The singer had what I'd consider in appropriate banter for a family store, too much talking, and lack of musical content.

The place was pretty dirty. Doesn't Tucson have health inspectors? Our glasses looked like they needed a little Cascade. In fact, my husbands glass had lipstick residue on the rim. Come on guys! Who owns this place? The wait staff was non-existent. Not sure what was going on there, except it seemed the only customers besides us were friends of the band. Don't really know?

Next to the ONE-person woman's bathroom, there were chairs and stuff piled up. I had to wait crammed in a small hallway with crap piled around me. Can't the owners afford a storage room? If you are mvoing things to accomodate a band, do it in a testeful way. The ambiance suffered because of the layout, junk piled up, and the distasteful noise of the band.

Bottom Line: An average experience. The owner needs to pay attention to detail and treat his business a little more professional. They need to watch the professionalism of staff. They could have a good product if they treat this business with some attention to critical details.

The owners need to realize that just because a band brings in a few friends that is not going to help their business. Potential regular customers will NOT return. Thus underpaid, entertainment will HURT your business. Sorry, I'm just assuming they were under talented because the company was trying to meet a substandard budget for entertainment. INVEST in your company with CLEANLINESS, ORGANIZATION, GOOD STAFF, GOOD Entertainment.

“Great pizza for lunch!”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

This little place on Kolb next to Guadalajara Grille serves a great individual pizza with thin crust and is wood fired. They have a nice micro brew tap selection as well and my favorite PBR.

“Discover - Relax and Enjoy”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

Great little Tucson eatery for Neapolitan style pizza. I love pizza for the flavors of the sauce and toppings rather than the crust and cheese, and that is exactly what you get here - perfectly thin crust, fresh toppings and flavorful sauce. We shared two pizza's between four people; one red sauce and one white and they were both delicious. (The proprietor?) is a wine buff and when he noticed our interest and questions about the wine menu, he offered up additional choices from his 'off the menu' selection which provided us with the perfect choice for our taste that evening.

The restaurant is very relaxed and low key - shorts, shirts, and flipflop style. Orders are taken at the counter but food is brought to the table. There is a full bar although limited labels for different alcohols. Several large screen TVs are visible from the bar and most tables, and live music performances vary on weekend nights. In addition to pizza, there are appetizers, salads and a few pasta choices for dinner, and some sandwiches for lunch.

Prices are very reasonable making this a fantasitic value.
