The Adventures of the Two Wise Ones
Tucson Mountain Parks (TMP) was the home base for the Two Wise Ones for 3 weeks this past winter. Gilbert Ray Campground allows for 7 nights at a time. After the first visit, they left for a bit and came back for another week. And then did it again.
Why you ask? The campground is located in the middle of a magnificent saguaro forest. The cactus are so plentiful that they really do resemble a forest. And to make it even better, the TMP borders on Saguaro National Park. It seems as though the pristine desert goes on forever.
The cost of TMP is FREE! Hours are 7am to 10pm. The hiking and mountain biking is endless. And what’s even better are the FREE guided hikes. Go to the website
http://www.pima.gov/nrpr/events/calendar.htm and check out if there is a star talk or a wildflower hike or a cactus hike. They are all amazing programs!
The Two Wise Ones liked Tucson Mountain Parks. They will go back winter after winter to hang out with the saguaros and cholla cactus and prickly pears. Oh yeah!
