Owner description: A 20,000-acre desert natural preserve that accommodates many outdoor activities.

The Hidden Canyon trail is enjoyable, and not too much of a workout for those who are not in great shape. You can experience both great vistas of Tucson, and also more isolated spots that at least give the illusion of communing with nature before "civilization" arrived.

Lots of saguaro cactus, and it is free. Just drive out through Gates Pass, park in a pull out and enjoy a hike or the scenery. I dont recall seeing any official restrooms, so plan accordingly.

Perfect area for a casual ride through saguaro cactus land. Easy to moderate hikes throughout.

I live right next to The park- lots of great trails, critters, cacti, etc. Trails are reasonably well maintained

This is a great park. Hiking is free and the trails are well-marked. They back up on the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and a near sunset walk is enchanting.
