“Educational and a Botanical Delight”

Bananas grow here! Hummingbird gardens and other types of specialty gardens to view. This is a gem. This is best visited in the morning due to the high humidity given off by the plants. Parking is more than adequate.

“Oasis in the desert”

Another Tucson surprise: a lovely venue of beauty and serenity just off the intersection of 2 very busy streets (and you don't think about that at all). A small but interesting gift shop, plants galore, limited snacks/drink, many restful places to enjoy.

“Gardener's Paradise”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

One of the hidden secrets of Tucson is the Botanical Gardens tucked away on Alvernon. It's an amazing treasure trove of plants that will keep any gardener happy for a couple of hours at least. There are more than just diverse cacti gardens, although they have an outstanding collection. Tropical gardens, an Australian landscape, along with Native American gardening are there to enjoy. The model train area is fun as well, which will keep the kids entertained. Most of the gardens have a canopy of trees overhead, so even in July it wasn't awful. Mornings are the best time in the summer though.

The gift shop and cafe are available to extend your stay. Admission is very reasonable. Staff is friendly and helpful.
