“A Banana Tree in the Desert?”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

I like to study about medicinal herbs. I could hardly believe my good fortune when I walked into one greenhouse and saw a purple coneflower -- better known as echinacea. In another greenhouse, humidified by swamp coolers (fans blow air through wet straw and produce cool breezes) stood w a banana tree -- never thought I'd see that.

“Plants and Butterflies!”
Reviewed March 14, 2012

We enjoyed walking along the garden paths to the various gardens. A special treat was the Butterfly House. It was populated with a wide variety of butterflies, which flew very close to visitors. There were two staff members to answer questions and to make sure the butterflies didn't escape!

“Great spot in a desert town”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

Loved this place. The specimens are stunning and the butterfly exhibit is gorgeous. Definately worth the time. My only complaint is that they are not open after 4:30 p.m. So, get there early!

“Small treasure in Tucson”
Reviewed March 3, 2012

This is a great place to take young children. They have a spectacular butterfly display and some very interesting desert attractions.

I suggest that you ask questions about the various flora and fauna, they are very knowledgeable and willing to help.
