This is a really amazing place to visit, but I'm not sure words can do it justice. When my wife described it to me, I wasn't sure I wanted to go, but it was cool!
There's a nice cafe where you can dine outside and enjoy the natural beauty and there are humming birds flitting around. And then there are pathways where you can walk around and take in the desert landscape. We never get tired of seeing all the cool varieties of cacti and other plants and wildlife. The day we were there, a woman was there with a hawk on her arm and she gave an interesting and informative talk on hawks and other birds of prey.
This place is totally worth a visit if you're in Tucson.

If you don't have time for a trip out to Sonoran Desert Museum, this is the next best thing. What a sweet little jewel that showcases the best of Sonoran desert landscaping and flora. It is really nice for those with limited mobility. The adjacent cafe and tea room is a lovely setting for a lunch or beverage break.

The gardens are a peaceful place to visit. The staff and volunteer team that we encountered were way above average. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They truly seemed to care about the experience of their visitors. I tried to arrange a second visit, but ran out of time.

Small, in-town garden. Many rooms to view. Excellent educational value and nice horticultural exhibits. Good gift shop.
