“Pleasant Surprise”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Needed a place for one night, and was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent accommodations here. Very good value, spacious, clean, lovely room; chocolate chip cookies at check-in, hot wings and sodas late afternoon, and a very nice breakfast.

I did not get to use the pool area, but it was very pretty and beautifully landscaped.
Friendly, competent staff.

This hotel in far north Tucson (Oro Valley) was really clean and comfortable. The rooms were clean & quiet, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was quite good (no powdered eggs). It is located on the very busy Oracle Road, but suited our needs well since most of our sightseeing was to the north and north east of the city. It has a putting green, outdoor pool, laundry room, and guest computer/printer. You also have the use of a fitness center (separate business) just 2 doors west. There is a sizable mini fridge and microwave in the room in a separate little nook, which is very nice.

There are several restaurants within a few blocks west on Oracle road, as well as a Starbucks.

I often stay at this chain, and this is one of the nicer ones for the price range.

Room Tip: The hotel faces north, so the rooms closer to Tucson face west and are significantly hotter with the...

Great version on the Quality Inn chain. Fresh, clean. We really appreciated the FAST & friendly check-in at 11:00 pm after being on the road for 14 hours! We found it quiet. Only problem is it's located at least 15 minutes off of I-10 which is a little inconvenient for a pass-thru trip. But because it was sooo nice AND pet-friendly we stayed both coming & going to Calif from Texas.

My wife and I come here for a weekend getaway whenever we can, and we can highly recommend this hotel. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels in the US and elsewhere, and nothing compares to this hotel for the price. All of the rooms have been completely renovated, and everything has a new and fresh feel to it. For a few dollars more, you can get a king suite that is like a small apartment - complete with kitchen and separate bedroom (2 flat-screen TVs), which we love because it is like having a home away from home. The wi-fi works great, and you can bring your pet, because this hotel is very pet-friendly.

In addition to a swimming pool and hot tub, there is a putting green and a place to do your laundry. The free hot breakfast buffet is excellent, featuring omelets, bacon, sausage, and potatoes, as well as the usual array of cold items. The location is great if you want to be close to restaurants and shopping. There are two major shopping malls located within a few miles. If you are traveling through Tucson on I-10, it is a few miles away from the exit, but well worth the trip. This hotel is located on one of the busiest streets in Tucson, so ask for a room on the back side if the street noise might bother you.

The staff is great, and they have always gone out of their way to make us as happy and as comfortable as possible.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms on the front side if you don't want to hear the street noise.

My husband and I stayed in the Quality Inn on both a Saturday and the following Sunday night in early December. It was convenient for us to get up to the wonderful restaurants also on Oracle Road. We were on the back side of the Inn and it was very quiet! I was also able to do a wash as the washer/dryer room was available! Breakfast was wonderful (amazing choices of cereals, juices, yogurt, fruit, eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, coffee etc.) and since we are early risers having it open from 7:00 until 10:00 on the weekend was great for us! During the week I believe it opens at 6:00 AM. The staff were amazing and so willing to help answer questions. The grounds are beautiful and I got photos of plants, etc. There is a pool in the enclosed courtyard that again has beautiful grounds and plants surrounding it. It is an older Inn but a gem for the price we paid. As long as it is clean, comfy and homey, and it was, we are not needing a new place, when we are sightseeing and not even in the room that much!

Room Tip: Only have the experience of one room but it was quiet and on the back side away from the street!

Just spent a couple of days in Tucson at this hotel. While it is near a very busy stretch of streets, inside the hotel itself it is very quiet. Nice touch with cookies at the front desk. The front desk staff was friendly and seemed genuinely welcoming upon check-in and check out. The breakfast is nice also though it stops at 9:00 am so if you have a late night and get up at 8:00 am it is a bit of a rush to make it there. Having the breakfast till 10:00 am instead would be nice. The beds are comfortable and the shower head is adjustable. The black out curtains worked really well in keeping out the light. The bathroom for my liking is just a bit too small, the tub itself is small and has a curved shower rod. I did like the sheer panels to let the light through the shower curtain. The bedroom is a very good size so a little could have been taken out to make the bathroom a bit larger - just nitpicky I suppose as the bathroom was clean and neat with a hook on the bathroom door to hang things such as robe.

The main issue is attention to details are needed. The room I was given was pretty clean, however, there was a burn on the lampshade where some guest had let the lamp tip over and it was a big brown burn very noticeable. The carpet edges going into the kitchen was frayed and unraveling so it looked a bit sloppy. Someone had eaten either spaghetti or pizza sauce as it was red and smeared it over the air conditioning unit on/off buttons, temperature dial and on the in room hotel services book cover and it was quite obvious on my first glance. Not that big of a deal, I cleaned them using some Lysol wipes I had brought since I always wipe off the remote and toilet handle when I travel -- yet the maid staff should have noticed the stains before check in when they cleaned the room. The rest of the room was spotless. I looked under and behind the couch, behind the end tables and checked the remote -- and no residue of any kind was left. The bathroom sink and mirror were immaculate so I presume the air unit and the in room book were just overlooked. Someone really should have noticed.

There is a small kitchenette with a stove top, full size microwave and refrigerator along with pots, pans and utensils -- the maid forgot to leave dish liquid yet she left some the next day before I asked so that was a nice catch. There is also a small island and a nice high backed leather chair so one can sit and eat and do so work on your laptop. The Wi-Fi was a bit spotty and kept going in and out. Finally, I call the techs and was told someone needed to reboot the server. Someone did, however, the WiFi was still somewhat slow but hey it's free. Though this hotel would score big with guests with the WiFi being more consistent again this area speaks to the attention to details.

I would stay here again for the value as other hotels nearby are quite a bit more and the location suited me well. This hotel has the chance to be a real hidden gem by just looking out for those little small details that add up to a guest in deciding where to stay.
