“Fantastic vacation!”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

My daughter and I spent a week at the ranch. We had a fantastic time. The riding was wonderful, great accomodations, exceptional meals, and the staff was very friendly and went out of their way to take care of you at all times. Always something to do including after dinner entertainment. A beautiful setting and they always mixed up the type of rides available to all levels of riders.Stay the entire week to experience everything available including the Saturday afternoon Rodeo exhibition. .....I would highly recommend the White Stallion Ranch to anyone.

Room Tip: You can not miss with any of the rooms.

10 of us spent an amazing week at WSR. The horses were well looked after and gave us all a great ride. There were so many choices of ride so each person could tailor their day. The food was creative and delicious and the site and accomodations are unrivalled. The best part was the friendliness and skill of the staff from the top down. We had an absolute ball and this ranch has something for everyone!!

My wife and I spent five days there, and had a wonderful time. We were both absolute beginners at horse-riding and from the first were able to get on horses and go out on leisurely rides in the desert lands. The staff there truly seem to want to make your stay enjoyable, are knowledgeable, and even learn your names. We had rented a car to get there from Tucson airport and never left the premises, and so wished we had saved some money and just let the ranch take care of transferring us back and forth. The food was wonderful comfort food, everything (too) plentiful and tasty. The accommodations were clean. More pricey than our usual vacation, but there are really no hidden extras. The only extras were getting lessons, and those were reasonable and went directly to the wranglers who were spending their otherwise free time providing the lessons. Many movies and shows have used the 1000s of acres for filming, and after getting home I used Youtube to see the same parts we would ride horses on to see scenes from the old High Chaparral TV series, and then a mountain area that we rode up on in the climatic scenes of Jimmy Stewart's Winchester 73. The clientele were interesting, many from England, others from all about the United States. We accomplished what we wanted which was to be comfortable on a horse. While we didn't push this trip to learn faster horse gaits, those are something for the future to learn.

If you are looking to have an authentic ranch experience, where you can ride in your jeans and cowboy boots, the White Stallion is the place for you! We are a group who travel extensively for fun, safe, and interesting riding experiences. Here we got to lope through the desert with towering saguaros. We climbed up a beautiful, ever-changing mountain. We rode slow, we rode fast, we rode all day, 1/2 day, breakfast rides, beer rides, and we chased cows and we roped and we had barrel lessons and we had a blast!! The rooms are cozy, with fireplaces and Pendleton blankets. The food is awesome and the bar convenient. Every staff & family member was friendly and helpful. The matching of the horses with each rider was spot on! I really enjoyed the flexibility of the sign up process each nite, so if you wanted to join a few rides together you could ride all day even if it wasn't technically an all day ride. If you found the weather too hot for your taste, you could simply opt to ride in the morning and later in the afternoon. What's better than that? Simply, nothing.........thanks Russell for arranging the barrel lesson with that excellent Gree (sp?) and I'm still waiting for Big Blondie... Cindi

Room Tip: Some rooms face the mountain but as the gardens get bigger the view is blocked. Our room was 22 and...

The ranch made for a fabulous vacation. Not only was the staff friendly and helpful, but the owners were involved in the day to day operations. The horses were obviously well cared for and the riding options were more varied than I had imagined. Much effort was put into ensuring that the guests are entertained and happy. Meals were very good with sufficient variety during the week that you could not get bored. The scenery was equally impressive and, while hot, it was not unbearable. After an entire week of riding, I still felt that I could have stayed another week and have different experiences. This spot is high on my recommendation list.

I have been to all the usual southern spots, Cuba, Mexico, etc. None of them compare to White Stallion Ranch!! The personal, homey feel makes you feel comfortable immediately. The staff and wranglers know your name right away, and always have time to talk to you. They went out of their way to do extra things for my group, and really made the trip special.

The rooms were lovely, no creepy-crawlies even though we were in the desert. The food was delicious all the time. I never had a bad meal there. The trails were well organized and efficiently run.

As for the trails, they go through some of the most spectacular scenery I have ever seen. I was a little nervous about my first mountain trail, but the wranglers and horses know what they are doing, and I quickly settled in to the trail.

In a nutshell, this is a beautiful spot with wonderful staff. The schedule is as busy or relaxed as you want it to be. You can hike or lounge by the pool. What more could you want??

Room Tip: My room was in the northeast corner, right next to the paddock and the horses. Perfect way to wake u...

The family owners are to be commended for their dedication to hospitality. Not only do they obviously choose their Wranglers with care, but personally give of their time, and ensure the quality of service staff from office to servers to cleaning. You get to know everyone and all speak highly of their employers and their job ... And it shows in the guest experience. You could not ask for more attentive Wranglers. You honestly feel they want to help you both enjoy the trail and become a better rider. To boot they are fun and charming. The same for the service staff, whatever you wish to eat, whatever you wish to do they are there to say "yes" we can do that. I recommend doing every ride, eating every meal, and taking the hike to Panther Peak! None of our group wanted it to end. Congratulations White Stallion Ranch ... A job well done.
