“Stylish and comfortable accomodations”
Reviewed January 4, 2010

We spent two nights at this resort after reading many excellent reviews. It certainly lived up to the reviews. Our room was spacious and beautiful. We loved the high wood ceilings and the large and modern shower. The bedding was luxurious. The staff at the desk were courteous and helpful Only complaint was that the hot tub was not very hot but still useable; the weather was quite cold when we were there. This was our first visit to Tucson and we really enjoyed the outdoor Sonora Desert Museum. We went thinking it would take an hour but it was so interesting and well laid out that we stayed for several hours. The volunteer guides are excellent. We learned so much about the desert. Be sure to eat lunch in the Ocotillo restaurant. We were rather surprised to find such fine dining in a museum. From there we visited the Mission of San Xavier del Bac. This is well worth visiting if you are interested in Baroque altars and mission style churches. It is a real gem

Five day stay before Christmas was a great R&R choice. Large units overlooking the desert are best, huge rooms with balconies or patios. Three pools, fitness centre and tennis courts, with nature trails that abound with Sonoran desert birds and flora. Great views of the mountains during the day and at night stars from the hot tubs. Friendly staff and beautiful landscaped desert gardens. Much better than golf course resorts in the area in my opinion. Winter rate specials are up to 50% off plus $50/day credit for other purchases (food, bar, spa, horse riding etc.). Spa services are excellent. Best massage in years. Food could be better, but you are spoiled for choice for great Mexican cuisine in downtown Tucson, which is a great funky little city surrounded by national and state parks and Indian Reservations with Missions, Desert Museums and awesome hiking amongst the Saguaros. This is a totally better experience than anything in Phoenix or Sedona.

We stayed for four nights last month as part of a two week CA and AZ tour. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. We made good use of the small refridgerator and free wireless internet. One of the two pools was closed during our visit which left the main pool a bit crowded on the weekend. By Monday, we practically had it to ourselves. We used the tennis courts which are well located but in slightly bad shape in terms of surface cracks.

Service was good thorughout the resort and staff was quite friendly. We had a delicious lunch in the Lookout Bar & Grill. The location was excellent for exploring the city and the grounds were beautiful. We had an extremely good off season rate ($115) and the resort represents a great value at this price point. It is not plush or super luxurious but rather comfortable and relaxing. We might try another Tucson resort for our next trip but would have no problem returning in the future.

My husband and I stayed three nights in the Westward Look Resort during a conference. Although much of the stay was good, I was very happy to return home for a good nights sleep. We stayed in a first floor room and were kept awake for hours by the person pacing in the room above ours. Who knew that one person could pace for hours at a time. Why is it that the front desk never asks how your stay was when there are problems? They didn't care even when the problem was reported. The grounds are good and food was excellent. The favorite for both of us was the Sonoran Eggs Benedict. We couldn't make up our minds on what to get one morning so the waitress also brought out a half order of the peanut butter crunch french toast. The chocolate nachos were excellent. There are about 3 computers available in the lobby which was convenient. I would not consider returning unless being guaranteed a room on the second floor.

Stayed here for 4 nights second week of Nov and can really recommend it. Upon first arrival we were a bit underwhelm, especially since we had just come from 'over the top manicured' resort in Scottsdale. But once we settled in, we really began to appreciate the beauty of this place. The landscaping and natural surroundings. Enjoyed our breakfast's on the patio and drinks in the evening. Love to travel, but usual always glad to be home to our bed. This is the first time we have every missed the bed & linens at a hotel once we were back home. Very nice.
The only complaint would be the traffic noise in the distance.

We took my Mother and Father in law to the Westward for their 4oth wedding anniversary and it was terrific! The rooms were large, clean and beautifully decorated. We asked the resort to make it special for out folks and boy did they ever. The management delivered a nice anniversary card, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries to the room as a gift. We ate at the dining room twice and had good service and great food. The grounds are beautiful and the Hummingbird trail was a nice walk while we were waiting for our rooms. Before dinner we lounged at the pool which was beautiful.
We also went on the sunset trail horseback ride throughout the resort and really enjoyed the ride and the personable guide Buddy. We topped off the night with a dip in the hot tub and slept like babies in the soft beds. Everything was just perfect and we all enjoyed the stay so much. Thank you to the management and staff of the Westward Look for making a special occasion VERY SPECIAL!

During the summer the deals are excellent with free breakfast and low rates for excellent rooms. Two Pools, Tennis, hiking and nice restaurants with great views highlight this gem of a hotel. Do not miss the incredible gardens just 1/2 mile walk from the hotel that contain wonderful plants and wildlife in a perfect close setting. Getting there early in the morning is the best time with low crowds and lots of insect, plant, bird, and other wildlife action.
Staff at the hotel is good and the rooms are generously appointed with big lovely bathrooms and balconies for outside relaxation.
