Our first room assignment the A/C fan was not working and room temp was 81F. Maintenance confirmed and we moved to adjacent room. When asked why that room also was 80F the front desk said it was the hotel's green poicy not to pre-cool rooms below 80F. The outside air temperature was about 98F. Also in the final room the return air duct grate was filthy (we have a photo). Our bookibg promised a room close to Lobby but also not so.

This is a place to chill out.

As with most resort complexes, this hotel is a little away from any other facilities which means car or taxi to go elsewhere to eat and drink. The result is that the rather limited and expensive bar menu can be your only choice. (The main restaurant was out of action during our stay).

The rooms are spacious suites with comfortable beds, leather sofa, balcony, two TVs! and excellent shower room – all spotlessly clean. Curiously, although supplied with a safe, it is only accessible for people over five feet 10 being positioned on a top shelf. We were also woken at night by the windows shaking due to vibrations from the air conditioning. On inspection we noted that pieces of paper had been shoved into the window spaces to try and stop the vibrations so obviously issues around the quality of the window frames is known.

There is an adequate pool and interesting ‘chef’s garden’. Parking is excellent.

Stayed here seven years ago and had a great time, sadly I don't think much has been done to the rooms since. The curtains in our Deluxe King room were filthy and the rest of the room clean but getting tired. We also really enjoyed the restaurant when we were here last time but when we booked in June for our September visit no one said that it would be closed for refurbishment. One poor meal in the bar was enough so we ate off site for the rest of the visit. However the pool area is really nice and for the days of our visit virtually empty so it was nice to get back in the afternoon and have a couple of quite hours in and around the pool. I also struggle with the resort charge concept, why not simply add it to the room rate.
