Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa
Ranked #26 of 129 Hotels in Tucson
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Held a small company retreat here. The staff, services, amenities, rooms, and facilities were all top-notch. Maybe the best place I've ever stayed. The only regret is that we didn't spend enough time relaxing. The best beds many of us ever slept on. The Gold restaurant served a wonderful breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I had a great time at the Westward Look and just wanted to note how wonderful the staff were- in particular the night clerk on Saturdays and the overnight clerk named John? They delivered more than 5 star service and were unfailingly helpful despite the many calls on them. The woman who worked in the gift shop was also amazingly gracious. Oh- and Bernadette, the bartender. We didn't always have the best luck with the waitstaff (at a busy time, we had to move tables three times to get service) but otherwise- what a beautiful place. Great rooms. Over-the-top-good staff!

My conference was in the University area and I was so happy to return to the mountain base to relax at the Westward. The outside is a bit dated but the rooms were really nice and modern. You can't beat the price for such a lovely environment. I was just sad to leave in the morning to spend the days in a conference room. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. I ended up swimming in the lap pool and relaxing in the hot tub while the moon was rising above the mountains. I was supposed to go back to the conference at night.... but the beauty and relaxation of this place kept me from getting back in the car.
The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is that my TV kept freezing up with its pictures and the whirlpool near my room didn't have working jets.

We stayed here for my daughters soccer tournament and it was phenomenal. When we walked into the room, it looked bigger than my first apartment and was extremely clean. I do wish they had better overhead lighting since i had to turn on the lamp on the desk and the one on the nightstand for the only light in the room unless you want to open the curtains.

WHile not as large as the place we stayed at last year, the pool was perfect for all the kids on the team to have fun in. The girls loved the hot tub and the boys played basketball while we relaxed in the loungers.

At night the fire pit and the lounge area up above the pool was perfect for all the parents to hang out and unwind after all the games. We were in a room that was at almost at the far end of the complex but was in easy walking distance of everything because of the way it is laid out.

I think that we are certainly going to have all our teams stay here again next year for the Fort Lowell Shootout and since we live in AZ, if we ever need a place to go for a staycation this will be the place in Tucson. I like the rates and the smaller, more personal atmosphere than the resort up the street we stayed in previously.

Room Tip: Having only stayed there once I do not really have any tip other than next year we are going to try...

The folks at the Westward Look know how to make you feel welcome. Two years ago when I was there, I thought they went out of their way to make me feel important, and I wondered if the addition of the Wyndham name would change that, but gladly, it did not. All of the staff I encountered, from the front desk, to the restaurant to the bar staff, were all very attentive, helpful, and polite. I ate 3 meals there almost everyday, which is another bonus; the food was very good.

Room Tip: I had one of the Posada rooms near the pool, plus, it's a very short walk to the main building...

We have stayed at this resort several time before, but this time was a challenge due to the cold weather. We had to have the heat on and the system was noisy and blew directly onto the bed location. Tough deal, but otherwise good stay

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Tuscan. It was our first visit and could not have been happier with the hotel. The rooms are large, well decorated and very clean. The grounds are beautifully built into the natural landscape of the dessert. We most enjoyed the hiking paths and strolling through the chefs gardens. Our room was conveniently located near the pool and in the evening we were able to sit by a warm fire. A delightful visit
