“Great Value”
Reviewed November 17, 2011

We have been to many resorts in Tucson and consider this one of the best values. The room sizes, although in need of some updating, are very generous. The property is large and beautiful and blends in well with the mountains and desert. We are tennis players and were very pleased that the courts had been resurfaced since the last time we were there and in great shape. Although, an older property, you can't go wrong for the money, The front desk was a little understaffed, but very pleasant and accomodating. The pool area was nice and well kept. The location is great, with several good places to eat nearby. We would definately come back to Westward Look.

Stayed 3 nights here in early November 2011. What a great place! All staff were very helpful, room was very large with extra large bathroom, 2 sinks, mini fridge. Grounds are kept very clean and all 3 pools were in great shape. Hot tub nice and large and very hot. Only ate and drank in the bar but service was great and food decent. Especially loved the prickly pear martinis! Had a wonderful pedicure at the spa. I would recommend this resort to anyone- couples, families or older folk. The resort is perched on the side of the foothills above Tucson and if you can't navigate around the many footpaths and stairs, the staff will give you rides in the golf carts they have available. Nice view of Tucson at night too.

Room Tip: Ask for an end room. Rooms are in clusters of 6 and the ones on each end don't have anyone abov...

Glad we picked this resort over a high end chain hotel. Westward Look was very quaint and charming in layout and decor. Room was very spacious and grounds were very well maintained. Customer service was also very good. Would stay again, especially for such reasonable prices.

In contrast to El Conquistador and other similar area resorts, this resort is located in a relatively busy area of town, but still has a long access road that results in a feeling of privacy once you're there. You do get some elevation so you get a good view of Tucson and the mountains south of there. It's great for kicking back for an evening drink while watching the sunset. Rooms were well appointed and large. Good trails on site. It does not have its own golf course, so you will have to drive if that is something that interests you. It's restaurant is very good. It's pool and hot tub are also very nice.

Greetings,

Thank you for your comments. Westward Look Resort is like an Oasis in the desert. It is quiet and removed, yet in the middle of some of the best Shopping and Restaurants that Tucson has to offer. We hope that you will be back to stay with us in the near future.

I stayed here twice. I so fell in love with the area that I moved here! The grounds are wonderful to meander around. Fantastic landscaping, an organic chef's garden and a labyrinth. There are loads of hummingbirds and butterflies.

Whether you are staying at the resort or live in the area, I'd highly recommend taking a tour of the grounds with Raymundo Ocampo, the head groundskeeper. He's been tending the grounds for 25 years and is a very passionate teacher. You'll learn about the plants of the deserts, how they grow, medicinal uses and more. He even showed us how to grind an agave leaf down to fibers and braid a rope.

Room Tip: I'd suggest a room on the second floor. You have soaring ceilings and little balcony. You have b...

Beautiful rooms, beautiful resort, and beautiful grounds. We had a 4-star stay at 2-star prices. I think it may be a bit cheaper because it doesn't have a golf course...which was fine with us. Huge rooms and bathrooms with upscale amenities. Immaculate grounds with lots of bird- and butterfly-watching opportunities. Multiple pools and hot tubs to choose from. On-site spa was charming and relaxing. Nice and plentiful tennis courts. Didn't try any of the restaurants.
