From top to bottom, the facility is immaculate. The staff is warm and friendly, and well versed in the amenities offered at Tanque Verde Ranch, as well as the Tucson area. A variety of menu options at each meal satisfied the diverse eating habits of our entire group. Many gluten free options available.

Room Tip: All of the rooms offer fantastic desert and mountain views.

This is definitely not a 5 star, luxury resort. From rooms to service , we were unhappy with all.
We were extremely disappointed in the quality of the rooms: the beds were awful. Hard, poor bedding. There are no tv’s in the room. The bathrooms are outdated and the toiletries offered are low end.
The service here was bad. I have never encountered such rude staff at a resort. Beginning with the car service that was scheduled and confirmed to pick us up at the airport but never showed. When we called to find out where they were we were told they had car troubles and we should just take a taxi. They did pay for the taxi but we wasted time waiting around because no one called to tell us they wouldn’t be there.
When we arrived on a Saturday midday, no one greeted us. We carried our own bags into the lobby. We were greeted rudely at check in. We hoped it was just an off time but it never got better. When our room was ready, we had to ask again for our bags to be delivered to the room.
We made spa appointments well in advance which were “lost”. No apologies for that. When we tried , we were unable to rebook the same services due to scheduling so we had to have less than we had hoped for. The spa is not a luxury spa. There are two contract workers and on one day, one of them cancelled so they had to move all scheduled appointments to the next day leaving nothing available for us to book. Basically they are subbing out work and they don’t care if their guests can get services or not.
We had similar issues with scheduling activities. We were told we could not schedule in advance for certain things but then things were full. When we pushed, we were told that we could in fact schedule for the entire week and several things were already booking up – there seems to be no management, no oversight and certainly no training in how to be polite and accommodating to guests. When we asked about having a car to drive us into town, we were told that if they didn’t’ have too many airport runs they could ride us in. When we went in to request such service, we were told the “complementary driver” was not working that day and we should take a taxi. Again, we were ok taking a taxi but why were we told one day we could be driven in and then not? They have multiple vans and they were available……so it didn’t make sense and again the desk clerk was extremely unfriendly about the whole thing.
Several times I called the desk with questions to be told they would “look into it” but never to hear anything back. A friend sent a bottle of wine to us, which appeared mid-week with no card or anything. I asked the desk where it was from and they said they would “look into it” but never returned a call. I found out from the friend that she had sent it.
The activities at TV are fine. The rides were nice but the wranglers were not particularly friendly, even to my kids. They seem to be burdened by their work. We went on walks daily but no one seemed to know who we were or care that we were there. I heard from other guests that they felt similarly dismissed. While on walks, the guides didn’t talk or engage at all.
We went to a scheduled tennis clinic but when no one else showed up but my son and myself, the pro left. my son and I hit together but we hoped that even if it were just the two of us, he might offer some lessons or hit around. No such luck.

The food is probably the one highlight of TV. Breakfast was the same every day but it was consistently good. Lunch was good and the specials offered were sometimes very good. The dinners were good with choices which was nice. The staff in the restaurant was friendly. My complaint was that two nights of the week they offer a “cookout” and if you don’t want to do that, you have no other option on site. We did it one night and the food was mediocre and it was very smoky. We left the property the second time.
The bar is good enough with the nicest of the staff. For an all inclusive they do charge for liquor and soft drinks and the bar doesn’t’ open until 4pm. Poolside there is no service (and when we did go to the pool there were no towels. We asked for them to bring some but several hours later there were still no towels).
This place could be amazing. With the facilities and the acreage it wouldn’t take much to make this a really wonderful vacation. Instead, it felt like a lot of lazy, unhappy people who don’t really care who is there or what their experience is. Extremely disappointing especially since it’s a high priced vacation.

All parts of the dude ranch experience were fine. Especially all of those who work there. They care about safety as well as keeping guests happy. An incredilbe number of horses so that the proper horse can be chosen to fit every kind of rider. Food was great, including the Breakfast Horse-ride and the outdoor BBQ, but the Mother's Day Brunch beat all expectations. I've been to at least thirty rances over my lifetime, but none can hold a candle to Tanque Verde

Room Tip: All roms I (we) have had over the years were very good.

Incredible location! The rooms were comfy, clean and charming. Food was excellent and the service was top notch. A special thanks to Jim who drove the shuttle van. He did an outstanding job and set the tone for a wonderful five days at the ranch. Loved it!

What an AMAZING place! Tanque Verde is beyond anyone's imagination! Everyone is so accommodating! The rooms were both beautiful and comfortable! The rooms were clean! I loved the fireplaces in my room. There was so much to do! I especially appreciated Wrangler Taylor who took me horseback riding. She spent a lot of time helping me to feel comfortable. She could not have been nicer or more helpful!

The ranch was the perfect place for the workshop. The food was out of this world! I appreciated the gluten free options at every meal. The wait staff was great! The barbecue was fun and memorable! It was such a nice way to relax at the end of our time together.

Both shuttle drivers were informative and kind! We needed middle of the night shuttles to be able to make our early morning flight. The driver was prompt and pleasant....even at 3:30 am! I was very grateful that I was able to return home at a reasonable time!

I would also like to give a shout out to Emma Hooper who helped make all of the arrangements easily and seamless!

Room Tip: I loved Room 27!
