Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: Be amazed at one of the world's largest aircraft collections: including 3 hangars of World War II planes, supersonic spyplanes, the world's smallest bi-plane, plus many other unique private, military and commercial air & spacecraft documenting the evolution of flight. Friendly docents augment your visit. Only Pima Air & Space offers the bus tour of the "Boneyard"/AMARG (M-F only, no holidays, 10-day Advanced Reservations Required) plus offers its own tram tour of the museum's 80 acres of one-of-a kind planes daily (additional fees). You can actually touch "aviation history" including "Freedom One" (that flew the American 444-days-in-Iran hostages home), presidential crafts, planes that launched astronauts, delivered life-saving food/fuel, etc. and others with wingspans the length of a football field... Ogle helicopters, MiGs, an Oscar, a rare German buzz bomb, a moon rock and much more. 350 aircraft, 80 acres, 6 indoor air-cooled hangars. Just plane awesome!

If you like technology, planes and amazing engineering history, you must visit this place. Majority of the museum is outside, be ready to walk. Sun protection and water is recommended.

Would highly recommend a visit here. If travelling with young children or less mobile family members arrive in time for the "tram" as this takes you around the outside lot which is really quite big. Our tram left at 11:30am. The commentary on these tram rides is well worth the $6 charge alone as the guides are experts on all the planes and tell you some quirky tales about them along the way. Without a tour or guide, there is no information on many of the outside planes besides their title. There is plenty to read on the aircraft inside the hangars though.
There is more than enough inside the hangars & inside the sapce museum part to entertain if weather is rainy. The cafe was also quite good if you happen to be there over lunch.

This museum has a vast number of aircraft and the guides really know their stuff - very interesting even if you're not a plane nut but if you are, then this will be paradise!

This trip was just my husband and I, but we will be back with the kids! They will love seeing several planes that my husband flew. We enjoyed our visit.

This was one of the highlights of our trip
Admission to the museum was $13 each and $7 for the 'Boneyard' tour and both were worth every cent
The boneyard tour was amazing and what the tour guide did'nt know was not worth knowing
A word of warning you MUST have photo ID if you want to join the tour as they check it twice no ID no tour
Over 3800 aircraft in one place,
The museum also has a good cafe all cooked fresh food
