Old Town Artisans was a pleasant surprise. There was a nice variety of shops in all price ranges. Each willing to share their outstanding knowledge of the art that was for sale in their shop. They were enthusiastic and loved what they were doing. There were many beautiful things to choose from. The courtyard dining was also very charming. The Jalapeño margarita was wonderful!!! We definately will go back on our next trip to Tucson.

Old Town Artisans has been always been a refreshing oasis in the middle of Tucson (building away from the art museum, a walk away from El Charro ... it's an exciting change for out-of-towners who aren't impressed by tall buildings.

The restaurant, a bar, and wonderfuol SouthWestern art stores and galleries surround a Mexican style plaza that is the center of Old Town Artisan. The plaza is a refreshing garden area, overhung with bouganvillas and trees, and set around a pond with goldfish! The music can vary from bluegrass or blues in the early evening followed by contemporary live bands or jazz later in the later evening. Check out the Old Town Artisans web site for a schedule.

If you live in Tucson and haven't been to Old Town Artisans, then you would rank with Bostonians who haven't been to Quincy Market!

We went to have a glass of wine and listen to jazz. It was delightful. The trees and buildings were lit with lots of lights so it was soft and romantic. The jazz group (Wed night) was pleasing. We didn't eat but the food smelled wonderful.

One party had two dogs at their table. We found that delightful but others might be put off in the US (happens all the time in Europe).

Would rater higher but didn't try the food and that would be important.

There were also at least one other place to eat, but we went into the center section.

this is not the place to go for souvenirs. this is where you go if you want over-priced handmade pieces of art and objects. the art is very nice and we found many things we "wanted" but nothing, absolutely nothing we would spend that much money on.

Great place to see a lot of artisans in one place. Left before noon, but it looked like a fun place to eat and see performers.
