We went we our 6 year old, he love the cavern and the different kind of animals during the walk.
The only thing needs to improve it's the restaurant the line was awful not enough staff to take care of the place, tables dirty, otherwise I recomend the place for a day trip.

This is a museum, a phenomenal botanical garden, an aquarium and a zoo. We spent an entire day and could have stayed longer. Suggestions--arrive before opening to guarantee a good parking spot.

Many sites and presentations of interest--scheduled presentations include Raptors and Wild Animals, both great. The hummingbird and bird houses were a bit underpopulated probably due to the season, but everything else was great. I never realized how many varieties of agave there are, and their many uses. Educational and enjoyable.

Dining options include a limited food court --pizzas and Mexican food--and a restaurant with slightly higher prices.

Interesting gift shops.

We were really looking forward to our visit and, in particular, the Ironwood Gallery. The admission is expensive (21.95). When we arrived at the gallery we found it was closed ! The poster next to the door listed the opening date as Jan 18 (we visited on the 19th) and the sign blocking the door indicated they were still mounting the exhibit. We went back to the ticket office where the staff member (with an attitude of “I don’t care”) said “ we didn’t know” ... not an apology or let’s see what we might arrange. Totally unacceptable. And worse, if the staff really did not know, who is running this organization?
Also be warned that although the website and signs indicate they are open until 5pm, some exhibits and food venues close by 3 to 4 pm!!!!

My advice is to skip it.

Large area with lots of exhibits that ranged from a cactus garden to a humming bird aviary to wildlife dems. I liked how there were signs and docents so you could learn while you walked around and looked. I’d go back

Although this was quite the drive into the mountains once we arrived it was amazing. Plan to spend the day. So much to see with exhibits, trails, Animals. The bird show was well worth it! A must see!
