raptor show is outstanding. bird aviary is poor with very few birds. animal exhibit areas are very small compared to other zoos - feel sorry for the bighorns, mountain lion, ocelot, bobcats to name a few.

Take at least a half day to do this. There are trails to folllow, each a learning experience. They have very knowledgable staff. There are several different shows-a raptor show, another about the animals of the desert, an incredible photo exhibit. As you walked the trails, you can see and learn about the coyotes, javalinas, etc. Wonderful place.

I have loved this destination since I lived in the Sonoran Desert for a year in 1990. It's even better now. Displays in the natural desert habitat, friendly and informative docents, and intriguing info and display for peeps of all ages and interest.

we were on a family reunion pleasure trip and loved this museum. We watched the raptor show at 10AM (twice a day at 10 and 2) and thought it exceptional. Outside right in the desert, lots of educational info while the exhibit goes on and the birds were outstanding. We all loved the walking paths thorough the desert and got a thorough idea of flora and fauna in the desert environment. It was hot even in December though so i used the drinking fountains they had all over the place. A nicely done exhibit outside in the real desert. We had a snack at the cafe and felt we got our monies worth. you will love this place.

I was at this museum as a child in 1968 and hadn't been back until now. It is a wonderful place to visit to learn about the desert. The photo exhibit that was on display was incredible. You need to have a lot of time to see everything.
