The Museum is very nice but the day we went to see it, it was very hot and most of the animals were not easy to see. The snake/spider exhibit was the most interesting exhibit for us.

The museum is mostly outside with nice walking paths. bring water, although many drinking fountains along the pathways. Great museum staff. The museum is celebrating it's 60 year anniversary. We ate lunch at The Ocotillo cafe as the Ironwood Restaurant was not open the day we went.
The ticket booth accepts credit cards. Not many discounts available. Military discount is available.

It was great seeing animals and plants in a natural setting. The park was laid out well with marked paths. It is a lot of walking but worth the effort.

The best time to visit this place is early, as soon as they open, as it gets extremely hot by the afternoon. If you're there by 9, you can tour the entire museum and be leaving by the time it's unbearably hot. It's a real treat to see the different animals in a natural habitat, and its a really nice walk and exercise. I also liked the aviary, and a bird sat right on my husband's shoulder : ) It's a very cool place to visit, and there's something for everyone!
