“Humming birds!”

A must see for anyone visiting Tucson. Educational and interesting. The animals are amazing and unique to the desserts of America and Mexico.

“Fun desert zoo experience”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

Paths through desert landscape with landscaped animal enclosures. Included water based animals (like beaver) that live in rivers that flow through the desert.

“Do not miss this place, we nearly passed it up.”
Reviewed September 27, 2012 via mobile

This place is amazing. This is not like any museum I have ever seen. It's on a good size property and is mainly outdoors. Take your walking shoes as there are lots of places to walk and lots of things and animals to see. We had our 5 year old who still fit into the complimentary prams that were available and enjoyed every minute of our experience. Lots of helpful volunteers dotted about the place to provide information. Definitely a must if you are visiting Tucson.

“A must see if you are staying in the Tucson area.”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

We are always very interested in the natural environment where ever we go and as this was our first time in the desert we really wanted to learn as much about it as we could. The desert museum was great, quite a bit of walking, but we really got a feel for the animals and the desert and learned a lot. Even better was the two for one entrance price as we had purchased a Tucson passport the day before a the Tucson visitor center. If you are in the desert and you are at all interested in the local wildlife and environment this is a go to place, plus the drive there through the State parks and mountains was stunning!

“The desert is not dead!”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

If you thought that deserts were barren places, think again. This amazing attraction shows animals, birds, insects, plants and reptiles in their natural habitat. I've never seen so many flowers on such a variety of desert plants. The bird house is a beautifully tranquil place to sit, relax and watch the hugh selection of different birds ignoring you and going about their business. be aware that the place is on the side of a hill, so the esay downhill part of the trails is followed by a corersponding climb back up to the Visitor Centre
