“Delightful place, a must-see!”

Beautiful small zoo in the open desert, with lots of shade for the most part. Don't miss the raptor free-flight demonstration or the hummingbird aviary!

“Overrated”

Wayyyyy too crowded. Had to shuffle along with large field trip groups, baby strollers, wheel chairs. Nice displays but sometimes couldn't even get to due to crowds.

“AZ-Sonora Desert Museum-a Unique place in a unique region.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

If you've never been in this part of the world, this place offers an extremely well-organized and comprehensive exposition of the many unique forms of flora and fauna which are unique to it, and for the most part, found nowhere else. The setting is magnificent, although it does get a bit crowded during tourist season

“What a gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

I'll admit that my wife dragged me to the museum. It's not the sort of place I normally choose to visit. In hindsight, I can't believe I waited so long. Fascinating information, great tour guides, terrific facility. I love the desert, but understand & appreciate it so much more, after the visit. Even if this isn't "your kind of thing", I HIGHLY recommend this museum!
