Something anyone spending time in Tucson needs to visit. Great chance to experience animals and vegetation of the Sonoran Desert. Plus drive over Gates pass is worth the trip anyway. Try to time it so catch sundown at the pass

Allow plenty of time to explore the museum! I had only three hours, and could have used twice that time to see more. I lingered in some of the exhibits (sitting among the hummingbirds was magical) and never did make it to the aviary. The free flight demonstration with Harrison hawks was very educational. All of the volunteer docents were knowlegeable and approachable.

I appreciated the water fountains and shade stops -- can't imagine what it would be like in summer! Be sure to have a water bottle and wide brimmed hat. The spf 30 sunscreen in the restrooms was a reminder to take precautions.

Haven't been here in a few years, but last time was a nice place to meander. Exhibits are eco-friendly, hummingbird sanctuary and more. good for families too!
