“Great day trip!”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

Took our two year old to Old Tucson, and both parents and the kid had a great time. Once you pony up the $17 each to get in (kid was free), unlimited train rides around the park. It was like an all-you-can-eat buffet of trains, which is perfect for our single track (ha!) minded kid.

Stage coach rolling by every 5-10 minutes was reminiscent of "The Truman Show" -- which is fitting, given the intimate relationship of Old Tucson to Hollywood. As much as our kid enjoyed the trip this time around, think he'll have even more fun in a couple more years.

“A Must See”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

This was more than I expected. I felt like I was in the Old West from the moment we walked through the entry. If you love old western movies or TV shows, you'll be in your glory. This is where some of John Wayne's best known films were shot. My Dad loved to watch Gun Smoke. He might have recognized some of the scenery. Little House on the Prairie was filmed there. It is still used to film current westerns. Most will probably never make it to the big screen though. There's something for everyone. You can ride a wagon train or regular train. There's limited places to eat but you can get wings, pizza and ice cream.

“Definitely the high point of our trip to Tucson. Spent the day wandering around the old movie set. It was fun!”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Everyone person who worked at this place was pleasant, helpful and stayed in character all day. It was the highlight of our trip to Tucson. Arrived at 10am when they opened and went on all the tours. Not much in the way of anything good to eat, though.

“What a fantastic day for the whole fam!”
Reviewed January 16, 2014 via mobile

We were there today w my parents and my family which includes 2 children. It was totally fantastic! All the workers really got into it... Even though it is a Thursday. My husband got to participate in th can can dance which was hilarious! My son got to participate in the stunt show which was so cool. He also got to be sworn in as a deputy. I would recommend getting there when they open and try the shows and such. That was the best part. The haunted mine was a little scary for my 3 year old but the guy made it more funny than scary. Everything was a blast!

“Western Town”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

I had previously visited this area 43 years ago. When we knew we were coming back to the area I had to visit one more time. This is a working movie set and some television shows and movies have been made there. (High Chaparral, Clint Eastwood, and many others). There are a number of free tours you can take where people discuss the town, shows you can see, train rides, and activities for all. The stagecoach does cost a small stipend as the trail rides. This is a great family place. It was around $17.00 per person but if you are a AAA or military you can receive a discount. The food is a little pricey but as expected for a place like that. Actually, 7 of us ate for $84.00 and were full. (burgers, etc.) There were three places to eat with different menus. There had been a fire round 1995 and destroyed some of the area but it was still a great place to be. The scenery is beautiful. Had a wonderful time.
