This was a great experience for kids and granddaughter while visiting from the midwest. It is like the old time towns seen in western films and was really a treat for them.

I didn't enjoy our visit to Old Tucson Studios. Seem very commerical
and not interesting. I'm sure in it earlier years it would have been wonderful to see. Very disappointed

Old Tucson prides itself on providing a quality experience in the Spirit of the Old West. The key to getting the most out of your day is to consult the daily schedule and our friendly and knowledgeable employees. Old Tucson's offerings cover interests ranging from the real Old West (living history presentations) to the Hollywood Old West (movie museum and guided set tours) to life on the rough and tumble frontier (saloon shows and gunfights) to family fun (rides and attractions). Old Tucson also presents events like the Heritage & Harvest Festival (Nov 23-25, 2012), Shootout at the Chaparral (Feb 16-17, 2013), the Wild Wild West Steampunk Festival (Mar 8-10, 2013), Wild West Days (Mar 22-24, 2013), Wild West Performing Arts Society National Championships (Apr 13-14, 2013), and Cowboy Music Festival & Western Art Show (well-known Western Music Association. Come on out and enjoy!

My husband is a BIG western movie fan so off we went to spend the day. It was not disappointing. The live shows are fun and entertaining; some very good singers. The grounds are clean and very original setting. The weather was nice too. The stage coach ride really authentic given the ground is not paved. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, full of information. They have a museum with clothes from movies and tv shows like Little House on the Prairie. Very worth a day to enjoy!

Its a historical movie set. What else is there to say? Over the years this has changed and become much more commercialized. Back in the day, there were kiddie rides and it felt more authentic. They still have the gun fights and the original sets have been rebuilt due to fires. Its still a cool place to take your out of town guests. Take in a stage coach ride and some old fashioned ice cream. Its a drive so leave early and you can hit the Sonoran Desert Museum first.

Old Tucson is an historical movie set. What else is there to say? Lots! Musical revues, gunfights based on local history, guided historic set tours and Living History Presentations. Although 40% of the buildings were lost in the tragic fire, 60% remains as do the kiddie rides including the family-friendly train (unless you're very tall!). One new addition is the native village. We agree that
"Its still a cool place to take your out of town guests" and the family!

When I walked around, I really did feel like I was taking a trip back in time. As a fan of Westerns, I appreciate the history here. But then the feeling is ruined by the hokey shoot-outs and canned saloon entertainment, plus the constant encouragement to buy something. Now sure if it will appeal to kids unless they’re really young, as there are no apps for their electronic devices.

You may be surprised to learn that kids of all ages enjoy Old Tucson. Experiencing the Spirit of the Old West is such a departure from the norm for today's kids that they actually stop and enjoy the experience! Kids today are loathe to separate from their personal electronic devices; however, if they do feel that they have to connect with their friends, several types of electronic devices actually operate here!
