“Nice place to get away”
Reviewed July 29, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The location was perfect for what we needed, quiet and relaxing. The area by Lee's Lagoon was a great place to watch the water. The house is being renovated so there are still some things yet to be finished. I am sure it will be beautiful when it is done.

Thanks for the review Julie! We appreciate the time it took to share your thoughts. My son arrives today to put the final piece of baseboard trim up in the bathroom and around the door upstairs. We too are excited to have it complete. It has been a long, tedious, back breaking project. We are thrilled with the outcome as well. Thanks for staying with us!

“Bringing Dad home.”
Reviewed September 28, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The perfect casual spot for a family weekend get-together. The house was comfortable and warm on these first fall-like days of the season. The home was large enough to accommodate a large group of family members as we all gathered to lay our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to rest. Lubec is a special place to all of us- full of memories. It was extra special to be able to stay in a place that provided needed solace for my mom. That was the very house that she and my father once stayed in while they were in Lubec visiting their parents. The home my grandparents once owned sits almost directly across the street and the shoreline here was walked by most of us when we were kids. I always look forward to any opportunity to come to Lubec.

We can't say enough good about this home and this beautiful property. In short, it's a excellent place to revive the soul. The owners were very responsive to our questions both before and after the stay. We're a family of 5 and had plenty of room for everyone. We hope we can return there again someday!

Liked best: We loved the trail leading to the clearing down at the channel. On one night, we cooked smores and watched the sunset (yes, the sunset is beautiful, even though you're facing east...trust me on this).

“A charming, comfortable home in the treasured town of Lubec, ME”

As advertised. Heather and Glen have worked their magic to provide a charming and warm home on an absolutely beautiful property. The grass path to the Lee Lagoon offers a special place to hang out with an outdoor chimney, picnic table and adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy the view of the harbor and town of Lubec. Just bring your food and your clothes - everything you need is provided. Easy access to town and the wonderful restaurants and shops and of course - Campobello Island, Quoddy Lighthouse and all the beauty Lubec has to offer. The kind of place you want to make a tradition to enjoy with family. So thankful to have the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful and historic treasure. (The historic part - you will have to visit and read about in the house log.)

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay Bunny!
We are so thrilled when vacationers appreciate the time and energy that has gone into restoring this old farmhouse. We still have more to do, but until then we love searching for period antiques and researching the history of the property. We hope to see you and your family again next near if not sooner! Thanks too for the wonderful comments in the guest book.

Awesome would be another word I would use to describe this home. It is well appointed and comfortable. The view from the breakfast nook and many other locations within the house is spectacluar. The back porch faces the bay and provides a view of the fishing fleet as well as the town of Lubec. Close to town but in the countryside. Want to get away from it all. This should be on your short list.

So excited to be heading back to Lubec next July and to be staying at this wonderful home. Since our last visit, the upstairs has been remodeled with a second bathroom added...it looks great!! You will immediately feel at home here...it is very clean and comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Heather and Glenn always make sure you have everything you need including directions and tips about the area(we have also stayed at their motel a number of times). The home is very well situated for exploring the Lubec area and Campobello Island (don't forget your passport). We are happy to be staying a week this time as there is so much to see and do!!

“This was home.”
Reviewed August 15, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

My family and I met up with friends from Germany and stayed in this house for 6 nights in July/August 2015. From the moment we met Heather to get directions to the house and then getting there, we fell in love with it. It truly felt like home. In saying that I mean it isn't perfect but a work in progress (much like most of us homeowners live in) but filled with love, care and comfort. The 7 of us were very comfortable and had more than enough room for both togetherness and solitude (when that was needed).

There is plenty of seating with a comfortable living room, nice rockers looking out a large window, tables and seating in both the kitchen and dining room for meals. One place we spent much of our time (and most meals at the house) was the deck. It was delightful and with great views too.

The beds in all four bedrooms were exceptionally comfortable as was the rest of the furniture throughout the house. The kitchen worked well for us and both bathrooms were fine. (Plenty of hot water for the seven of us!)

It is about a ten minute drive to town and, though there are neighbors, it feels very secluded. And quiet, oh so wonderfully quiet.

I (and my traveling mates) highly recommend this house for you to consider as your home for your stay in the Lubec area. It's not a spit-polished hotel (but if you're in Lubec that's not likely what you are looking for) but it is home.
