We spent one night (unexpectedly) at the Water Street Tavern & Inn and loved it! As a matter of fact, we were staying the next night across the street and wished we could have stayed another night at Water Street. Our room was cozy and comfortably furnished, the great room had an amazing view, and the carrot muffins were worth the stay!
The hard-working owners are wonderfully accomodating whether in the tavern pouring drinks or the inn delivering coffee and muffins. If you're traveling Downeast, make Water Street a stop along the way!

We spent one night at the Water Street Tavern & Inn while vacationing in New England. We enjoyed our stay. We rented their family suite. It had two bedrooms, a kitchen, dining area, living area and bath with shower and a washer and dryer. It was spacious. The room overlooked the water with views of the harbor, Mulholand Light and the bridge to New Brunswick, Canada. The unit had a small private deck as well as access to the larger deck associate with the tavern. From the room/deck we could take in the sites and seals swimming in the harbor. It was nice and relaxing.

The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The other furnishings were okay (couches, table, chairs, etc). The decor is reminded me of a cabin (wood floors, ceilings and wall coverings). It fit well with the scenery.

The only issue was that the restaurant/tavern was closed the night we stayed. That was disappointing but I guess everyone deserves a day off. Fortunately for us, Cohill's is right across the street and had really good food.

The cost for a night was $150 plus tax. This seemed a bit steep for this area (it's nice but there is not a lot going on). However, we did get a big room with a nice view. I would recommend this to other travelers willing to spend $150 a night for a room.
