My wife and I stopped in and we both had the lasagna and garlic bread on a rainy July evening. Huge portions and they were DELICIOUS! Friendly staff, good value, definitely worth stopping by.

We normally dine at a competitor on the same side of the street but decided on the Water Street Tavern and Inn the last time in Lubec (spread the wealth!) We were pleasantly surprised. Nicely restored interior of a great old main street shop front, comfy seats (we were seated in front of one of the large windows with bench seating), attentive waitstaff, and yummy food.We all had seafood which was more than adequately prepared - but if you do go for dinner, save room for one of their large desserts! The owner/manager came over at one point to ask about our experience, as he did others while we were there dining. Frisky bar trade. Very friendly. I agree with another review of this establishment - it was kinda like "Cheers"

this wonderful little known location is in the eastern most city of the united states and i drove from central massachusetts, (via florida), to visit this terrific gem on the canadian border.
"Crab on Seagrass" were the most amazing crabcakes ever! 3 fresh crabcakes, held together with love and the skill of the owners and chef.
my friend had the lobster roll.....packed and overflowing on the bun.
sat outside to watch a Canadian regatta and view the amazing waterscapes of Maine & Canada, a stones throw away.
there is an inn here also, and tho i tried to get a room, they were booked up! the inn has 1 and 2 bedroom accommodations as well as single rooms.
worth the drive up the Maine coastal highway, see the lighthouses, and visit Arcadian Nat'l Park to climb Cadillac Mtn.

Water Street Tavern & Inn is a nice place to get delicious, fresh seafood. We were happy we stopped there.

Service is very friendly and attentive. Our server was Allison who always had a smile on her face.
My husband and I shared the mussels as an appetizer, and while he had the blackened haddock, I went with the stuffed haddock. Everything was so delicious!

We highly recommend this place and will definitely go back if in the area again.

Went there our first night in Lubec and did not consider going anywhere else the next night. Wonderful food -- we had great steamers, lobster, etc -- and the service was also great. This place feels like you are on the set of the old TV show Cheers -- everyone seems friendly and the atmosphere feels local (even with a number of tourists like us in attendance). Would definitely recommend this place.
