Peacock House is the best B&B we have ever stayed at. The house is immaculate, the breakfast excellent, and Sue and Dennis are wonderful hosts. The B&B concept is supposed to create a feeling of being a guest in someone's home, and this one comes closest to that of any. Given how much time Sue spends chatting with guests, I could not figure out how she plays the single-handed maid of all work. She is obviously a tornado who blows through the rooms while the guests are away; and probably doesn't sleep much during their 6 month season. Dennis is friendly and a charming guy when he isn't working the kitchen.

Lubec is at the end of the world (well, end of the US), and is unlike the other touristy Maine coast towns. Although we got rained on, we enjoyed the laid back nature of the town. Campobello is great and very interesting to anyone who has any interest in mid-20th century history of the US. BTW, don't forget your passport to visit Campobello. Our party of 6 managed to overlook that requirement. Sue predicted that the US Customs people would cut us a little slack, and they did. Apparently their data base allows checking for passport records based on a driver's license. Not sure this would work at a less user-friendly border.
