My husband and I booked this room for our wedding night and couldn't be happier. We had an amazing room with a view of the state house. The only complaint that I have is we booked the couples package which included free breakfast, however they forgot to bring the vouchers up to the room. It wasn't a super big deal because at checkout they credited our account for the amount of the voucher.

This was my second time staying at this property. Very comfortable rooms, very clean. The concierge lounge was beautiful and the breakfast high quality. The gym is also very spacious, which isn't always the case at hotels. The location is good with all kinds of restaurants and shops around.

The Renaissance Providence Hotel is easily the nicest hotel I've stayed in for quite some time. The service during check in was stellar, the room was clean and well laid out, and the view of the state house was amazing. I particularly loved having a door to the closet in both the bedroom and the bathroom, so that I had easy access to my clothing and suit case no matter where I was in the room. In addition to the great hotel, there is a mall right next door with restaurants and shops which was a lot of fun to explore. I would highly recommend staying here and will most likely be staying in Renaissance properties in my travels to come.

Room Tip: As for a high floor (I was on the top floor) with a view of the state house, you won't regret it...

My stay at the Renaissance in Providence was overall a great experience. The hotel staff are very helpful and know their way around the area, able to make suggestions of local nightlife, restaurants or sites to see. Kaitlyn (hopefully correct spelling) was especially helpful with giving suggestions about neighborhoods to visit and restaurants to dine at.

The hotel lobby is lavish decorated with many comfortable couches and chairs, a side reading room and a lounge area with a fireplace. The location of the hotel is minutes from most downtown attractions, seconds from Providence Place mall, and directly across from the Rhode Island State Capitol building. Additionally the hotel is a short walk from the Amtrak train station.

My hotel room was a single room with a king size bed. The interior of the room was greatly designed with that New England look I had hoped for. Red pin striped carpet adorned the floor with a blue sofa reading chair and cushion foot rest; the colors perfectly complementing each other. The bathroom was very large with a large floor to ceiling glass walled standing shower. The room included a small mini-fridge which was empty, for guest use – and rare find in most hotels these days – which would be great for holding small snacks and drinks. The bed was very comfortable and the size huge. The room also had a desk with leather desk chair, which could be useful for those traveling on business.

The hotel has a below level, street-side restaurant called Public which serves great food for a dinner, a late night pub talk or for enjoying cocktails in their chic lounge area.
An added perk the hotel offered which I enjoyed and utilized was their offer of a free shoe shine. I dropped my shoes at the front desk and they delivered them back to my room shined in about 30 minutes.

An FYI for traveling business guests, the Wake Up call option is an automated voice recording. If you’re used to getting a personal call to revive you to live in the morning, don’t plan for this, it’s more of an alarm clock phone call, but if asked I’m sure they would personally call you at a great hotel like this.

If traveling back to Providence, I’ll be sure to stop back at the Renaissance.

This Renaissance Hotel is a historic building right next to the State House and very close to the Providence Place Mall with many shops and restaurants. Steve checked us in early with a big smile and gave us a spacious room on the top floor with a pretty nice view. Although it's a historic building, the interior décor were well finished and updated. Our room has two nice size arm chairs, an ottoman, and a very nice working area with a quality extendable desk and a super comfy high back chair. The room had many updated amenities such as safe, fridge, coffee maker and large LCD TV. Comfy King sized bed gave us a very good quality of sleep. The bathroom was huge, beautiful and spotless clean with nice toiletry items (Aveda). In room Wi-Fi charges a fee but free in the public area. There were many nice seating areas around the beautiful lobby.
Plenty of "help yourself" apples at check in counter and refreshing local lemonade were served in the afternoon that was a nice touch.
We walked to the State House and beautiful Providence Riverwalk. We missed the Waterfire (visit official website for schedule), but still enjoyed the scenery very much. Providence is a charming city and this Renaissance Providence Hotel is within easy walking distance to many attractions. We definitely would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay when visiting the city.

Stayed here for a recent college reunion. It is located very well to downtown, right across from the capital. The room was spacious with a large closet. They give you an empty fridge which i prefer to a minibar and a good coffee machine. I did not appreciate all the nickle and diming that hotels in this category like to do such as $10 a day for wifi and $20 a day for parking. The building used to be a Masonic Temple and has some very nice historical details.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the state house, it is the 2nd largest unsupported dome in the world.

We stayed 1 night here while visiting for Family Weekend at my daughter's college, and it was great. Right next to the beautiful State House and the Providence Place mall, and easy drives to the various colleges and universities around the city. We requested a room with 2 queen beds, but one was unavailable when we checked in so they gave us a room with a king bed, a roll-away twin and a sofa. Service was very prompt and the staff was very friendly. The room was super clean and the price was right. I recommend paying the extra $28 for the valet parking - it gives you 24-hour access to come and go as often as you want during your stay. We would definitely stay here again.
