“Wouldn't stay here again..”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

We were in town for graduation, and our family picked this hotel. I generally like an historic hotel. The lobby is nice, but the carpets in some of the halls needs replacing. The carpet in our room was also in need of replacement, husband used the word 'disgusting'. Our room had a dingy feel. We kept our flip flops on. The bathroom was small but felt nice, and clean. Lastly, we ordered breakfast for early delivery since we had the gradduation ceremony to get to. When it didn't arrive, we called and were advise there had been a problem in the kitchen, and our breakfast was delayed 45 minutes. Unfortunately, that did not leave time to have breakfast...so we requested they send up a bagel so we could eat something before our departure.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your feedback. We've recently replaced all of the carpeting in the suites and are in the process of addressing the remaining rooms and common areas. Although the carpet in your room may have appeared worn as a result of normal use, I can assure you that it was not unclean. Our housekeeping staff employs strenuous methods on a daily basis in order to preserve the look and feel of our guestrooms.
I apologize that you were only able to enjoy a bagel as opposed to a full breakfast, especially on such an important day for you and your family. Thank you for your business and we sincerely hope that you will consider Hotel Providence the next time you're in the city.

Best wishes,
Tom Fitzgibbons

only room we could get for this weekend, nice enough hotel, but very expensive for what we got. also high valet fee.

polite front desk staff. free wifi in rooms, but charge for calls.

no special amenities for the price, not many tv channels.

as other have mentioned - beautiful view of church out window, but clock chimes between 8 am and 8 pm. also apparently the bars are on this street and saturday night (morning) was noisy as bars closed throughout the night. maybe double windows are needed or white noise machines.

We checked in the Hotel after a four hour car ride (which should have been 2 hours, 45 min) needless to say we were stressed and tired. The valet attendant was very personable and helpful, I told him I would need my car within the hour to pick up my son at his apartment who was graduating from Johnson & Wales University the following day. He kept the car out front for us so we weren't delayed. The Front Desk Attendant was so friendly and professional, we were checked in in less than five minutes and there was a glass canister of cold water with fresh lemons and limes in it and a tray of cookies in the lobby which was nicely decorated with various antiques and several paintings on easels of spring flowers by a local artists which were also for sale. Our room was spacious equipped with all the necessities, the shower was hot, loved the soap and the towels were probably the softest towels I have ever had in a hotel. We later met in the Lounge for a pre-dinner drink which was a very trendy environment, nice wine list and some interesting drinks as well. After having dinner in a local restaurant we returned to the Lounge for some live Jazz music and mingle with the other guests. Outside of a little street noise, which cannot be helped, after all it's still a city, I don't have a negative thing to say about the Hotel Providence. Location was perfect for the Graduation, one block away from the Dunkin Donuts Center, several little trendy shops and Restaurants on Westminster Street and a block or two from the Providence Place Mall. I can't wait to go back and enjoy Providence and all it has to offer, I will definitely be staying at the Hotel Providence!!

Nicely appointed boutique hotel located downtown business district.
Room was comfortable and clean with a stylish decor.
The adjoining restaurant and cocktail area provides excellent fare for everyone.
Most notable about this hotel is the people who make the Providence shine. Everyone is on the same page when it comes to making your stay enjoyable and stress free. The location allows for walks to areas of interest and some dining. Local taverns nearby and seafood restaurants a few minutes away. The staff and hotel provided excellent conference facilities and support for our meeting.

Hotel Providence is a very elegant hotel, with the best staff (chatted up with Alexa and Emily at Aspire Bar) that made my trip with my friends a very memorable experience. The seasonal artwork they had on display was truly eye catching, its nice to see artists highlighted for their work.

We loved the Hotel Providence! From the moment we arrived (without a reservation) we knew this hotel was going to be great.
The valet was so genuinely kind and helpful as was the gentleman at the front desk. It was no problem booking a room and he happily accommodated all our requests - top floor, king bed, quiet corner room... As for the room - it was awesome! Very clean and bright. Lovely bathroom with a robe. Keurig coffee maker!! Extremely comfortable bed and AMAZING AC (we really like a cold room at night.) We called down for an extra blanket and it was quickly brought up. Probably the best I have ever slept in a hotel room! We decided to preorder breakfast for 7am and it arrived exactly on time and was delicious. Overall this hotel was a wonderful choice - staff was exceptional, location was ideal and comfort/quality of the hotel was beyond compare. I will be back!

Hotel Providence is a great botique hotel minutes from Federal Hill, the Civic Center and downtown shopping mall. It is also only a brief walk from the public bus station to get anywhere in the city. The hotel itself is absolutely fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, from the doormen to the desk staff to the housekeepers. The lobby is very well appointed, with lots of room to gather with friends. The rooms were spacious, very clean, with large comfortable beds (ours was king-size). The Aspire Restaurant and Bar, on the first floor is great for a late night drink or Sunday Brunch. On Friday nights they have a jazz combo that our group (9 of us) thoroughly enjoyed. Again, the wait staff were fun, courteous and accomodating. We were there for an entire weekend and would absolutely stay there again.

Room Tip: We traveled with a small group (9) that were in 5 separate rooms in different parts of the hotel. N...
