We really like this hotel and keep coming back. The staff is always very friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. The beds are like a cloud and the bathrooms are clean and tastefully designed.

If you want a room with a view ask for the 7th (top) floor. Room 724 has a nice view of the beautiful Grace Episcopal Church (The church bells do ring every hour during the day).

The only thing I would have wanted in the room is a refrigerator. Parking is a bit pricey at $24 per day but the valet service is very efficient.

Room Tip: A lot of the lower room will not have a view being that it is a downtown building.

I made the mistake of purchasing a TravelZoo voucher. It was a great deal $159 w breakfast and restaurant credit. However they placed us in a room directly facing a brick wall with exhaust fans placed directly outside the window which made whirring noises all day. Horrible noises!

What disappointed me was 1. That this seems be a recurring trend w this hotel based on reviews I read and that 2. Because this is recurring they have automated responses - there is nothing we can do and you can talk to the manager tomorrow. Which also makes no difference because as they well know we already made the purchase through TravelZoo.

I came to visit my college campus after many years and the hotel unfortunately really tainted the weekend. The hotel should consider being more upfront with its shortcomings rather than advertising itself as a quality boutique hotel.

Based on prior reviews, booked this hotel for my daughter's RISD tour. Super location, everything walkable - RISD, Brown, downtown. My husband liked the exercise room. An older hotel that's been remodeled. Hall carpets could be cleaner. Extra star because they accomodated my family of 5 with well-priced junior suite, very good value.

We were originally excited to be staying at this hotel reading the reviews and seeing the photos. . We were booked in a suite on the third floor. We went out for a nice dinner and upon return were assaulted with LIVE LOUD BLARING MUSIC from a band playing at the hotel's restaurant courtyard until about midnight. We called the front desk to request another room which was impossible and had to listen to the ruckus from 9 until midnight when it ended. If you want a good night sleep.....DO NOT STAY HERE. There is not much sound proofing as it is an old building and you can hear everything The $10 milk and warm cookies treat for my child was delayed being delivered to our room for more than an hour and they arrived cold, greasy and inedible (AND ACTUALLY COST $22 WITH DELIVERY) The rollaway bed was never delivered and when it finally arrived, it was uncomfortable and of poor quality for sleeping. This hotel room was very basic for a suite and overall we were unimpressed. We did ask for a credit due to our lack of sleep and the only thing they took off the bill were the inedible cookies. VERY DISAPPOINTED. NOT A QUALITY HOTEL EXPERIENCE.

Room Tip: choose another hotel chain in downtown Providence. There are many properties with better amenities and quiet, modern facilities.

This hotel is beautifully renovated combining New England architecture with modern amenities. Do take a walk up the wooden staircase! The staff was helpful and responded quickly when asked to have a stopped up sink fixed. They also found us a room on a higher floor when requested. The hotel puts you in walking distance of the river and shopping and dining. On the down side however, is the music volume on Friday and Saturday nights. The music is so highly amplified that to converse in the courtyard means screaming into your partner's ear. The music pounded into our seventh floor room making it impossible to sleep until 1:00 AM when it finished. Music at this level of amplification is not music, it is noise and harmful to the hearing and one's inner peace. The hotel has done nothing to lower the amplification since their last negative review. What a pity because otherwise this is fine place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the other side of the courtyard.
