“The best oysters in town”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

There are so many good restaurants in Providence that we don't often revist a favorite but due to a reservation mixup at another establishment, we were lucky to get in here on a very busy Saturday night.

Service was excellent and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and willing to banter back and forth wth us. The oysers were perfect, large, briny, and very fresh. It was hard to choose which one we liked the best. The meal was served promptly and was well prepared and used fresh ingredients. A definite re-visit.

“Stick with the location on the Hill”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Great, fresh local chilled oysters sitting at the bar in the afternoon -- mine with Sauvignon blanc and my husband's with a well poured draft. Very attentive, very nice bartender, highly recommend the experience! Will definitely return! Ok, now that we have gotten that out of our system, here's my beef. They have opened a location at the airport that is sorely in need of attention. When we are in the airport, which has been a lot lately, we enjoy stopping in, When they are open that is. Someone has told management there that it is ok to close whenever things get slow. They are alone on this one at the airport from what I can tell, and we have been disappointed on more than one occasion. The staff is very smug and condescending in letting you know they decided to close early. Very unprofessional, very unreliable and disappointing to operate this way. I was going to write a letter to management but didn't think they would care, given the poor attitude of their staff. Shut it down altogether if you are not doing well, don't make a half baked effort. It only hurts your reputation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about the Providence Oyster Bar! We greatly appreciate your feedback. As for the Oyster Bar located in the airport, we unfortunately are not responsible for managing and maintaining that location. Atwells Group consists only of Providence Oyster Bar and Providence Prime on Federal Hill, The Fire in North Providence, and The Spring House Hotel on Block Island. We're very sorry to hear that your experiences at the airport location are not nearly as great as they are on Federal Hill. However, we're greatly appreciative of your support and kind words. We pride ourselves on both our food and service and are happy to know that we successfully conveyed that to you. If at any time you have any questions or comments please feel free to reach out to us directly and we'd be more than happy to help you, answer any questions you may have, and just to hear from you. Again, thank you and we hope to see you soon!

“Perfect place for brunch”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

We had the best time. All three of us had something different and all enjoyed our meals. The beverage selections were a great match and the server,s suggestions were perfect . The ambiance was cozy and friendly. It is just the rift spot to meet friends for brunch and when you add the free valet parking it just tops everything off.

“Yummy in my tummy!”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

My fiance and I went here last night for Valentine's day dinner. It was amazing! We had 2 raw oysters that were very fresh and good. Then we had 2 appetizers, the clams casino and the scallops wrapped in applewood bacon. Let me just say one thing the scallops wrapped in bacon were so delicious! The clams casino were also nicely seasoned but had too much breading/ stuffing for my taste but it was still very good. Then for dinner we split a sushi roll, we had the surf and turf roll, which was great. It is medium rare beef and shrimp tempura in a roll and it was pretty good. Only thing is the sushi wasn't wrapped tightly enough but at the end of the day I think taste is more important. Overall, the experience was great, the atmosphere was perfect. A nice perk is that they have complimentary valet if you dine there, which is always nice. Would definitely go again!!

“OMG the Appy Hour is amazing!”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

We are regulars at the Appy hour. They have the best raw bar in town (or anywhere) and the prices during Appy Hour are incredible. The atmosphere is friendly and attentive.
