Owner description: Sip a strong espresso at an outdoor cafe, grab a quick pizza for lunch or dine in style at a gourmet Italian restaurant in this historic section of the city, also know as Little Italy. You'll know you have arrived by the huge arched gateway, with a bronzed pinecone, which marks the entry to the neighborhood.

Had a lemon square from Scalo Brothers Bakery on the Experience Rhode Island tour bus. Charming area with lots of history and a great selection of food!

The area has definitely seen it's day, but it was a great experience. We were there on a Monday evening, a lot of things were closed by 6pm, but the music in De Pasquale Square was worth the visit! While we waited for our dinner reservation, we enjoyed the sounds of Sinatra, and oldies while we sat in the picturesque square sipping wine and enjoying watching couples actually dancing to the wonderful sounds!

This is a great place to get a bite to eat especially if you enjoy Italian food. Some of the best Italian restaurants are located in this historic district of Providence, RI. Some expensive and some with great food are really reasonable. I always enjoy walking around this neighborhood.

Love going "Up the Hill" since I was a little girl when they still had push-carts on the street.. Now I still go to several restaurants there, have to visit Roma's, (best Italian pastry) Vendi's, Tony Colonial all the older establishment. All the authentic Italian stores... One our newer favorite now is Nami, if you like sushi...
It's such a lively place w/ music playing in DePasquale Square.... A much if you live in RI or visiting!!

Great Italian food, we go up there whenever we are in town and have yet to have a bad meal. You can't go wrong in any of them
