We were in Providence on a beautiful October afternoon, and thought we'd read our books in the quad of the campus. After sitting on a bench for a while, we wandered past a building (Sayles Hall, it turned out) with a door open, and beautiful music wafting out. We went in and listened to the rehearsal of a visiting string orchestra under very capable direction. We later ran into the director, who invited us to the orchestra concert that night, which was outstanding. We always seem to run across some magical serendipitous event in Providence!
