Lovely atmosphere and amazingly diverse menu! Tapas, salumeria, and tons of entrees. Fantastic service, most attentive and pleasant wait staff. We ate downstairs with snow falling gently (whew) and perfectly viewed through the large windows over the river.

We made early reservations for a Sat night at 5:30 PM and were seated immediately.

Food is delicious and desserts great except maybe a cake that had been frozen at some point. This is the second time this happened recently at an upscale restaurant - but that was the only disappointment.

Oh, and free parking, yay.

Highly recommended.

Having wanted to dine at Bacaro to sample the cheese and charcuterie menu; specifically the "Bacaro Experience", we made an 8:30 dinner reservation on a saturday evening before Christmas. We arrived ten minutes prior to our reservation time and, upon entry, were greeted by the roar of the crowd at the bar and the coat check girl who took our coats and informed us that our table would be ready in "a few minutes". We declined to fight the crowd at the bar for a pre-dinner cocktail as our table was only "a few minutes" away. After a long wait, an opening in the bar enabled my BF to order two drinks from the bartender who then took advantage of some downtime to tidy up the bar until she realized that she had forgotten our drinks. As the hour approached 9:30 and long past our 8:30 dinner RESERVATION, we were never once approached by the nicely dressed hostess with an explanation or apology. We promptly finished our drinks and only upon request of our coats were we informed by the coat check girl that they now had a table for us. What is the point of making a reservation? There are too many other fine restaurants in Providence to deal with that kind of customer service. Take your business elsewhere.

The food is still incredible after all these years! But, unfortunately, so are the prices -- still this is by far the best "Italian" food you're going top find in Providence. Go and you shall see the light!

Was looking forward to trying this place.
Its overpriced for what you get. Its not bad food, but certainly not on par with the cost.
Spent $130 for two people and felt it was too much for what we got.
The wines are expensive. The tapas are good to try, but small portions. The entrees were over salty and rich. Otherwise the service was fine and atmosphere not too bad. Is just overpriced all round.

It is expensive, but you get to try so many different things. I've had tapas, steak entries, pizza and dessert. I am never disappointed. Whenever there is a special occasion in my life Bacaro is my top choice for dinner.
