“Very Interesting.”

Nice variety of displays and showings to see. Something for everyone. I especially enjoyed the "mansion" display. A full two floors of a private collectors home. Quite unique,

“Small but very impressive”
Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

We took advantage of the BA free weekend to visit this excellent museum. Several art works of the masters. Great special exhibit "The Dandys". Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wish there had been more in the student exhibition area. Easy parking on a Saturday.

“A "MUST visit" spot in Providence.”

Amazing collection. The museum is big with galleries dedicated to different periods and themes, however it's very easy to navigate.

“Small but very nice collection and museum”
Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Been here multiple times when we visit family and have never been disappointed. Permanent collection small but generally high quality. They often mount special exhibitions that are really very instructive. For example, they had a engraving, etching, drawing exhibition of old masters a couple of years ago that was nearly as good as the Rembrandt et al. graphics exhibition that is currently on offer (late April, 2013) at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco. Highly recommend a visit here!

“beautiful museum”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

I don't do museums often (I tend to glaze over after viewing too many rooms in a museum), but I love the RISD Museum. It's the perfect size for me not to be overwhelmed, and the pieces are very thoughtfully displayed. The Dale Chihuly glass exhibit is fantastic and was a major draw for my last visit. It's definitely worth a wander, even if you're not a 'museum person'.
