Owner description: This innovative and internationally renowned museum showcases more than 80,000 works of art from Paul Revere's silver and caricatures of 18th century Europe, to French Impressionists and the avant-garde works of recent alumni. Incredible collection of various works of art. I never realized how incredible the RISD Museum was. It is a must see when in Providence.

The RISD Museum of Art has a very diverse, well-curated collection exhibited in interesting ways. The signage accompanying the pieces is thoughtful and detailed. You'll need three or more hours to see the entire museum. The only downsize was the layout is confusing (I entered from Benefit St. - maybe it makes more sense if entering from N. Main) and the map I was given didn't help at all. Perhaps designing a new map would be a good project for some of the students.

This is a great small museum with everything from modern art to ancient art. It is doable in a day and unlike some of the bigger museums you don't feel like you've missed something

If you are looking for something inside in Providence, this is a great outing. They always have different exhibits coming through, and sometimes have free Sundays- but is a great place in the community to support and pay for! A nice quiet place tucked into College Hill to escape to.

This museum has varied exhibits and a permanent collection with something for everyone. Seniors beware though - there are not many places to sit, if any, in most exhibit halls.
