“Nice Room”
Reviewed July 1, 2008

The room we stayed in was large and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was located just minutes from the Rocky Mtn. Park and downtown. The price was a little high.

This is a nice place to stay for a family. The view of the mountains is gorgeous. The hotel is actually comprised of about 4 separate buildings. The buildings are older but they are well-maintained and the decorating is up-to-date. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They actually called Rocky Mountain National Park for us to see if Trail Ridge Road was open and they gave us advice on which visitor center to visit to get started. The breakfast was above average with make-your-own waffles and the standard breakfast basics. The breakfast staff was friendly and they kept everything well stocked. The lobby and breakfast room are nicely decorated but they can quickly fill up with the breakfast crowd. The pool is outdoor and heated but our kids felt it wasn't warm enough during our unseasonably cool June stay. The room had a small microwave and refridgerator which was handy to have to keep food in for our mountain picnics. Estes Park is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Inn.

We stayed here for 3 nights (June1,2 & 3)
Our room (452) was in the older section of the hotel on the 2nd floor. We had a good view of the mountains from our balcony. The beds and the room were both quite comfortable,(although the bathroom was small) the hotel staff friendly and the continental breakfast was fine.
I would rate this room average if it were not for the mountain view and seeing the Elk not 50 feet from our rear door in the morning.

The manager overcharged me for a night I couldn't stay. Had to dispute it through my credit card provider. If you have a personal problem, they will not be understanding to you. Recommend that you go someplace else where you are still treated like a human being.

  • Liked — Nothing.

We stayed here for one night during a tour of Boulder-Estes Park-Fort Collins. Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, and having not been there for nearly 20 years, it was amazing how touristy the town has become. It is full of typical tourist shops and little real character. This Comfort Inn is located off the main drag, heading east out of town, which is not such a bad thing.

Our room was one of the older ones toward the rear of the property, facing the mountains, but there were too many other buildings to allow for an unencumbered mountain view. The room had a nice LG LCD flat screen, a good size refrigerator and a microwave. The bed was a bit soft but quite adequate. The bathroom was plain and the toiletries minimal. The room was quite clean. But the walls were very thin – the plumbing above us and next to us was noisy as was foot traffic above us. The shower was intermittently cool and scalding hot – a safety concern. The breakfast was average.

This is a family-owned and run property, which is a nice concept. Overall, clean and convenient, but nothing to write home about.

  • Liked — Clean and convenient, family-owned and operated
  • Disliked — Soft bed and wildly fluctuating shower temperature

We stayed one night in mid-May 2008, prior to visiting Rocky Moutain National Park. Our $72 room was a queen non-smoking room, in the back of the property with a mountain view, clean, well-appointed with microwave and mini-fridge, and a comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was typical for the chain, but more than adequate.

The hotel has free wi-fi, but was the only one of the Choice Hotels we stayed at during our Colorado trip that did not have a computer available for guest use. The staff graciously pointed out where internet access was available in the area - we didn't need it, but be aware if you must have the access.

  • Liked — clean, comfortable, convenient, well-priced
  • Disliked — no computer terminal for guests - only Choice Hotel of 5 we stayed in that lacked this

We stayed during the first week of June 2007. We arrived on Monday and departed Friday (4 nights). Family with 2 preschool aged children. Stayed in room with 2 queen beds, microwave, fridge.

Family owned and family run
- Very nice, very reasonably priced (only $90/night w/tax – this included continental breakfast for 4), very clean, nicely appointed, comfortable beds
- Nice view of mountains (we stayed in back buildings on back side facing mountains – would definitely recommend back buildings, you just have to walk across the parking lot for breakfast, but if you're visiting the Rocky Mountains aren't you planning to walk a little anyway?)
- Parking spot right outside room (at least for back buildings)
- Very nice continental breakfast (when asked about his trip to the Rocky Mountains, my 5-year old always told people that the waffles were one of the best parts of the trip!)
- Extremely friendly and helpful front desk (see details below)
- Definitely worth the money

Front Desk
•called to report lightbulb out, was told to come to front desk, they promptly gave me new one
•asked for recommendation of locale pizza place, not only was I given a great recommendation, but the woman at front desk went to the lobby to cut out a coupon for me from the local newspaper (FYI: it was called Village Pizza and it was REALLY good and very reasonable - get there early though)
•asked for approximate distance to another town we were planning to visit after we left Estes Park and was given helpful directions and approximate time to get there

Stayed June 2007
