“Excellent cabins with a beautiful setting”
Reviewed July 20, 2011

We have stayed in these cabins previously and returned because we loved them so much. We rented the 2-bedroom cabin that slept at least 6 people. Fall River was straight out our front door. The cabin was clean. It was fairly well stocked. The kitchen could use some additions (might bring a large pot and a good sharp knife if you want to cook much). However, the beds were comfy. The bathrooms were clean. The water was hot with nice showers. There was a beautiful deck with a gas grill, where we cooked out every night and ate at the table with a view of the mountains. There was a gas fireplace that lit with the flick of a switch, which was great because it was snowing on the mountains and cold... in June! We truly enjoyed our trip, and we would definitely stay in these cabins again.

Room Tip: The 1 bedroom has a fold-out bed but the jacuzzi is a bonus. The 2-bedroom had 2 full size beds plu...

Absolutely terrible. When we walked in we tried to make the best of it, but after a short while in the room it became impossible. We felt more like we were staying in a pay-by-the-hour motel room than a $120 per night room. The numerous signs taped all over the room were very off-putting and seemed to me to be doing more damage than would washing our faces with the white washcloths (which we were instructed not to do by one such sign taped to the wall).

The chairs appeared to be falling apart and stained with who-knows-what, rendering them useless for us. Unfortunately the receipt states that checking out early results in forfeiture of your payment or else we would have left within minutes of arrival.

The absence of the a/c was not near as bad as was the constant worry that our upstairs neighbors were going to fall through our ceiling at all hours of the night. My list of complaints could go on and on (door didn't work, showerhead fell off, buttertrays as ice cube trays, disgusting stains on floor), but simply put- look elsewhere.

Lovely accommodations in a beautiful setting. We slept great with the sound of the river lulling us. The cabins are well supplied, comfortable and clean. We were in the cabins but all the rooms are situated so you can see and hear the river and mountains. Wish our schedule allowed us more time there. Found the staff at Riverview Pines to be very courteous and helpful. The grounds are tidy as well.

Room Tip: The rooms that aren't 'right on the river' are still very close plus the picnic area an...

We stayed here for 2 nights in Oct and loved it. Cabins were very clean, the owner was extremely nice and it was set in a beautiful area on the river and convienient to town and Rocky Mountain Nat Park.

My husband and I stayed at Riverview Pines for one night in September, 2010. This is a very busy time in Estes Park. We were greeted by Mike, the owner, and shown what was available at that time. He was very friendly and welcoming. The room was very basic. The best part about it is that it faced the river and the view was beautiful. The room is large and well furnished and included a microwave and a small refrigerator. The bed was comfortable. The location is ideal; a short distance from downtown Estes Park and 3-4 miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. We would definitely stay here again.
My favorite part of our stay was the view of the river and the open space and access to it.

Riverview Pines is in a lovely setting with the river running through it. The grounds and cabins are very nicely maintained. However, the cabins appear to have been remodeled to accommodate a king size bed and Jacuzzi in the bedroom. Though the big bed is nice, the angled wall between the bathroom and the bedroom doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling in what is about a 4-foot section to allow for the attic opening. Also, in order to open the blinds by the Jacuzzi which is next to the bed, one must step into the tub. The bathroom has a bi-fold door and its placement in the corner next to the closet makes it awkward to open. Because there are no handles on the inside of the door, the door itself is very dirty from all the hands that have pushed it open.

There is a see-through fireplace between the bedroom and the kitchen where there is a very small hide-a-bed. The aforementioned wall that doesn’t go to the ceiling means that you can’t turn on the bathroom light if somebody is sleeping in the bed. The see-through fireplace means you can’t turn on the light in the kitchen without lighting up the bedroom. Neither is conducive to privacy.

We were put off by the various warning signs around the room (see pictures). The notices could have been put in the information binder.

The room would be fine for a couple, but for those traveling with children, it really doesn’t fit the bill. The angle of the bed in the room, as well as the Jacuzzi make the room too tight to put in a rollaway. So if you have more than one extra person, forget it.

To recommend or not to recommend is not easily answered. Very nice, but...

The location of Riverview pines could not be better. It is just outside of Estes Park and only three miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The grounds of Riverview Pines are very nice and well kept. You can fish in the river, play on the playground, start a campfire, or go for a bike ride on the trail. The cabins are nice and comfortable. The only negative was the Wi-Fi signal was sketchy at best.
