We traveled to Estes Park for the hiking and sought a reasonably priced inn mainly as a crash pad. We were very pleasantly surprised when we pulled in to the Aspen Winds. It is a beaitifully maintained property on the banks of Fall River. The alpine cedar units are clean and well equipped. Our unit (#9) lets out onto the river, where a cedar swing invites repose.
The inkkepers--Phil and Dot--are everything you would want them to be--friendly, informative and accomodating. They recommended restaurants, trails and more. And when we sought to stay an extra day, they not only worked to make it happen, but offered to move our stuff to another room while we were out hiking (our room was booked).
One of us is a regular business traveler and is a stiff judge of hotels. This one definitely passes the test.More
