Our flight into Colorado was cancelled due to a blizzard event, shortening our stay at The Maxwell by one day. We called The Maxwell hoping to get some of our money back for the night we were going to miss. I was expecting to have to argue but Dana, one of the owners, completely understood and gave us a full refund, no hassle. When we did arrive, check-in was easy and she provided a map of the area. Based on our interests, she highlighted activities and places to eat. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom/shower was updated nicely. We would definitely recommend The Maxwell Inn and look forward to staying here next time we're in Estes Park!

When we can, we try to work with our guests when unforeseen circumstances arrive. In this situation, you were still able to stay with us! We are happy to hear that our recommendations for in and around town, helped you make the most of your shortened time in Estes Park. Hopefully you will stay with us if you ever plan another trip to Estes Park

We had a terrific stay, great accommodations, the owners are fantastic, friendly, helpful and the whole inn has a homey and friendly feel. It's also within walking distance of downtown Estes Park and just down the road from RMNP. We will absolutely stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay recently at the Maxwell Inn. We had always stayed in cabins on previous visits to Estes Park, and we were wary going into more of an inn or motel setting. But we were won over by the very nice property and even nicer owners/managers!

Pros:

The room is newly remodeled, and it was beautifully done. The owners do their own work, and you can tell that they have a definite pride of ownership in the fine attention to detail that they showed.

The room was also very clean! A+

The location is great! It is far enough out of town and off the road to be quiet, yet close enough that we walked into the downtown area every day. It is not far west from the Big Horn restaurant, to give an idea of proximity.

The continental breakfast is fairly basic, but very adequate! We very much appreciated the clean setting and the offerings (toast, muffins, yogurt, cereal, snack bars, hard boiled eggs, milk, juice, bottled water, teas,...). Eating out for every meal is hard on the tummies and the pocketbooks, so a simple breakfast like we would eat at home was perfect!

The price was very reasonable

The management is top notch, very friendly, helpful and attentive to needs!

Cons:
It doesn't offer the best view, but in this close-in area to town, you just aren't going to find a magnificent view. That's what RMNP is for! :) I will say that our picture window showed a hillside, and the day we arrived we had five chilled-out mule deer having a staring contest with our delighted daughter.

In all, we had a great stay, and I would recommend this property to my friends and family!

Room tip: I would request a room on the back to have a quieter, more secluded experience

This place was perfect for a friend's getaway to the mountains. Close to most things Estes, chill hot tub (with a view of a huge bull elk lounging in the grass across the street), and very comfortable beds! The main staff person (owner?) was so nice and helpful. Our room faced the street, but we didn't hear any outside noise. The continental breakfast will take the edge off (or fill you up--your choice). Would definitely recommend Maxwell Inn to friends!
