“Great House, Fantastic Vacation”
Reviewed September 10, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This trip included myself, my husband, parents and in laws (6 total). We were there Sept 1, 2017 - Sept 9, 2017. I'll start with all the great things, offer some tips and end with only two complaints.
First of all, the house is perfect. The right size with plenty of bedroom space. Two full bathrooms, a large dining room table and two decks made the house even better. We cooked breakfast every morning and nearly every evening for dinner. The kitchen was nicely stocked with good pots/pans and utensils. We loved the turquoise dishes! We found several spices and a couple bags of sugar. Take your own salt/pepper/spices just in case if you plan on cooking. The kitchen was equipped with two dish rags, a couple towels, roll of paper towels, a bottle of dish soap and six dishwasher pods. The coffee pot quit working the first or second evening of our stay. I called Ed and he brought over a brand new one before 7:30am the next morning. The bathrooms only had one roll of toilet paper each, so bring extra!! The beds were okay - would be great if they were king sized. Pillows were good too. The house is located within minutes of the RMNP entrance via Hwy 36. Great location! I only have two complaints: 1) Dryer - The house has a washer and dryer and even had a partial bottle of laundry detergent. The dryer was the problem. It would not dry ANYTHING. We would run our towels or clothes through one or two cycles and then hang them to finish drying. 2) Air Conditioner - We are from Oklahoma, so we know heat. This house does not have a/c. I have stayed in another cabin in Estes Park before that did not have a/c and it was extremely comfortable. This house, not so much. It has a sunroom off the kitchen/living room and it acts like an oven. The house was so hot the first two days of our stay, I was starting to question our decision. My mother in law was miserable. The rest of us were okay because the heat didn't bother us. It was in the mid to upper 80's the first two days of our stay so the house was very hot. We found the exhaust fan in the sunroom and it helped a little.
Overall, this is an excellent place to stay. Plenty of room, plenty of kitchen "stuff" and close to RMNP. I recommend this to anyone looking for a large house to rent!

We appreciate your feedback and glad you had a good time. Thank You for choosing our home for your vacation in Estes this year. We are glad you had a pleasant stay, it met your needs and appreciate that you took such great care of our home while you were there. Sorry the dryer didnt dry for you. We have the washer and dryer for our guest convenience and we will get it checked out. It is an unusually warm summer this year and typically is not this hot. This week it has been in the 40's in the evenings in mid Sept. We have fans in each room and the large fan in the sun room does it cool down. Sincerely, Aaron, Heidi and Ed

“Absolutely awesome!!!!”
Reviewed April 12, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We absolutely loved staying here!
The owners were very helpful and informative throughout the whole rental process, and the pictures don't do this place justice. The cabin itself, the area, and the view were absolutely beautiful. We were so comfortable in the cabin and felt at home. We would definitely recommend and come back again!

“Beautiful Home, Great Vacation Rental”

The following is going to be a lengthy review but hopefully helpful to all who read it. I want to be clear that this is meant in no way to deter anyone from renting this wonderful spot but simply some honest insight. I am an optimist so I'd like to start out with the cons and end with the pros.

I want to preface the 'cons' with stating a lot of the negatives have to do with the efforts, or lack there of, or the cleaning company that is hired to care for the home. The home had very dusty surfaces. They looked like they had been collecting and gone unwiped for months. The drawers in the bathrooms and bedrooms were also very dusty. We have a family with allergy sensitivities and besides that point, didn't want our clothes collecting dust let alone our bathroom necessities. Therefore, we gave everything a good wipe down before hand. At first glance/walk through the home appeared tidy but didn't take long to realize otherwise. I'm going to move onto the organization. What I mean by organization the way that we found the closets and shelves stocked with things such as sheets, towels, magazines, brochures, cabin info sheet, and games. The linen closet was crammed full of unfolded towels of various types. At the bottom of that same closet we found plastic bags stuffed full of unfolded sheets. Needless to say, we couldn't help but wash and fold and put things away nicely. The shelves in the living room, full of games and movies, were a bit disorganized and not very pleasing to the eye. The cabinet by the dining table was full of magazines and brochures in which buried underneath we discovered the very helpful cabin info sheets. So, as you see, much of the cons may be small and possibly tedious to some, but in my opinion these seem to be reasonable expectations of an inviting vacation home.

Now lets move onto the fun stuff, the 'pros'! This home was in a beautiful location, very close to town but neatly tucked away, up the mountain just a little ways. There was constant wildlife in the area that was easily observable from the deck at which our family spent a lot of time. The pictures provided of this home do not do it justice. We were pleasantly surprised! It is much roomier than in the photos and has plenty of comfortable furniture. The themes through the home are cabin-esk and shows some history of the house. Besides the drawers, the bathrooms were clean and the towels in each were folded nicely and ready to use. The beds were made nicely and no one complained about their mattresses being uncomfortable. The kitchen contained all cooking essentials necessary and very nice dining ware. The dining room table fit our family of 8 which was very nice to be able to sit, visit, eat and play cards at all together. The living room was large and very comfortable. The internet worked well for all of us.

I would definitely recommend this rental home to others as well as be interested in another stay there! It was beautiful, inviting and the pros definitely outweighed the cons. The owner was very responsive, professional, detailed and helpful during our correspondence. I think if anything could be better it lies within the individuals that are responsible for cleaning the home. The home itself is stunning, the owner has put effort into its furnishings and the area is wonderful!

We wanted to Thank You for choosing our home for your vacation in Estes Park, Colorado this year and are glad that you had a pleasant stay other than the disorganized shelf's, the dusting and appreciate that you took such great care of our home while you were there.

We greatly appreciate your feedback and are sorry you were not satisfied with the cleaning company we use. I have already address all of the items you listed with our cleaning staff. The linen closet that you had access to should have been locked in the hall way, as this is a storage supply cabinet for the cleaning staff and not meant for our guest to have access. Thank you for organizing it. I will definitely have the staff focus on making sure the bathroom drawers and dusting is completed after our guest depart to insure this doesn’t happen again.
My dad also lives in Estes Park and I will have him double check the unorganized games and puzzles to insure they are tidy going forward and spot check the cleaning staff to insure it is ready for our next guest.

Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Aaron

“Would like to rent again”
Reviewed November 9, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Absolutely awesome location love the layout of the house and the property. So quiet and secluded. Just what we are looking for. I often think of booking this property again. It's big enough for our large family to be together. My only hesitation is the property needs mattress upgrades for sure. We stayed for 3 nights and we tried every bed. Not one was comfortable enough to sleep in two nights in a row. I hope this review doesn't prevent others from staying here. It really is a beautiful space.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed November 9, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We were lucky enough to stay at this wonderful homey house. I say homey because i felt like I was at home except with a more beautiful scenery. The house is a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom 2 story home with a large fireplace. There were no drafts in the home and it stayed warm and dry. There is a large deck that faces the beautiful mountains and large living room windows that do the same. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook with. Lot s of towels, washer/dryer. Wild deer and rabbits were in the yard everyday. The coffee pot broke after a couple of days so I called the owner (Ed)) and he was there in less than an hour with a brand new one. 6 of us went on this trip and the house never felt crowded. There was plenty of room and space. The house came with internet and satellite TV. There are movies, games, and books stocked in the home as well. The home was not new with fancy appliances but had a "down home" feel to it. Everything you need to live there is provided. We stayed 8 days and loved it. Hopefully we will be welcomed back when we return for our next vacation.
