“Excellent Food, Wine and Service in a Great Location”
Reviewed May 16, 2014

A friend who lives in Estes Park suggested the Twin Owls for dinner and we made a reservation with another couple. The restaurant is beautiful...rustic, log cabin with a large fireplace. The grounds and views are also exceptional. We were seated at a window table (you should request one) and it had a great view of the grounds and of the Twin Owls rock formation in the distance. Our server was prompt, attentive and conversational. We were torn between two different wine choices and our server brought us samples of both to help us select. The main courses (Duck and a halibut special) were served piping hot and both were delicious. The duck was "on the bone" and tender and flavorful. While the pricing is on the higher end, the value was there. The wine list is diverse and well priced. I would recommend this for a nice dinner out for couples or with friends. Charming and well worth the visit.

“great meal”
Reviewed May 3, 2014 via mobile

We looked at trip advisor and saw this place had good reviews, so decided to try it for dinner.
We had no reservation, but the lady put us in the lounge, it was almost empty so very nice, and we got the full service.
The food was great, my wife had the Elk, I thought it might be too tough so got the prime rib, I think the Elk was the better meal, and that's saying a lot, as the prime rib was melt in your mouth good !
I would definitely recommend this place, but make reservations, you may not be as lucky as us.

“Too much pepper and raspberry sauce”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

The pepper budget could be cut in half. It overpowered the rest of the seasonings in the dipping sauce (olive oil) for the very good bread.

It totally masked the elk.

Raspberry sauce and salmon and the same sauce with lamb.. the flavors of what should have been the feature were masked.

Service of appetizer and wine was good. Then we noticed a pause of an hour when no one got food. People started to grumble and leave. Finally an avalanche of food appeared but there was some confusion as to what went where. We had to wait for our entrees while other people seated after us had their entree served. I guess something went horridly wrong with the expediter in the kitchen.

There was a function going on at the same time but that is no excuse. We did get a comp dessert..the creme brulee was the highlight of the meal.
And it did not have raspberry sauce, which really does no favor to smoked salmon and my tasteless parmesan encrusted lamb.

For the price you can probably have many excellent pizzas.

“The best in town!”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

We consider this the best in town, best food and service. It's pricier but nicer. Many of the restaurants up in Estes have that summer wait staff that are not exactly experts in their field, but Twin Owls is more like a bigger city restaurant. The experience has always been enjoyable in the many times we have been there?

“Rustic Mountain Ambiance, Excellent Food and Service”

If you are going to have a fancy 'splurge' dinner while staying in Estes Park, choose Twin Owls Steakhouse. Awesome food and great people in a beautiful mountain lodge. As a local, I highly recommend this restaurant.
