To all stress out proposers:

During my search for the best place to propose in Estes Park I came upon an Estes Park wedding group. After emailing a group email, I received the best response from Black Canyon Inn. Breeyan and Sara were phenomenal right from the start! As I frantically tried to prepare a proposal from DC, Breeyan took the reigns and truly made me feel at ease with her suggestions and creative ideas. From flowers, location, and most importantly photographer Kim Ziegler they made the proposal magical! What a better place then with the back drop of the symbolic twin owl peaks (since owls mate for life). Sara helped rush away my worries with a few deep breathes and Kim was there to put the finishing touches on the plans. The proposal was held on the Black Canyon grounds using the gorgeous bridge that cascades over the pond, and Breeyan took the time to decorate everything to perfection. Most importantly fellas, it was the best priced place in Estes Park!!! DO NOT PASS UP ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!!!

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED!!!

Best Regards,

Ryan

Black Canyon Inn is the perfect Colorado wedding venue Our wedding was a destination event with only 7 people and we could not have asked for a more beautiful setting. Sara and Cali were the wedding consultants on site and they were great to work with and made many helpful recommendations, particularly because we were having our wedding there, site unseen. The location was perfect for us because there was so much to do - hiking, Rocky Mountain National Park, horseback riding, etc.

As part of our package we had one condo included in the wedding and added another for our 5 children, ages 13 through 22. The H2 where they stayed was beautiful with great views, spacious, two baths, two bedrooms and two pull out couches and a balcony. Nicely decorated with high ceilings and lots of light.

Our wedding was held in the pavilion on the grounds. Everything is very close by so I literally walked from my condo to the pavilion in a few short steps. My future husband could not see me because I was hidden by some huge boulders until the last moment of entering the pavilion.

You can customize your package so we had a wedding cake, two bottles of champagne and two glass flutes included from Black Canyon. The cake was absolutely delicious but came with no decoration.....

We made dinner reservations at Twin Owls Steakhouse on the property. Again, the food and service was excellent. Tops on the list were of course the steaks (fillet with blue cheese) and elk medallions - they were the hit of the evening.

A few tips if you are thinking of having your wedding here:
1. The condo included in our wedding package I would not recommend. The Columbine was a bit dark and old and the bathroom is way too small for a bride to get ready in. My dress was rather slim but if you have a big dress you will never be able to use the bathroom. There is also no shelf space there for hair drying and makeup. Upgrade to a nicer condo - it's worth it.
2. Highly highly recommend Carolyn Carpenter (Sunflower Weddings) and Tomkphoto.com. Both have worked at Black Canyon and really helped put us at ease.
3. Twin Owls is a bit hard to get a hold of which made for some nervous moments in trying to book a dinner - would be great if there was more coordination help between Black Canyon and Twin Owls. Also Twin Owls is not open during the week for part of the year so be sure to check before booking your wedding if you plan to have your dinner there.
4. The Safeway down the street is outrageously expensive.

Overall, a fabulous venue and place to visit.

We found Black Canyon Inn by searching outdoor wedding venues and scrolling through photos on the internet. The minute I showed my groom the photos of the outdoor pavilion and the mountain ridge, we knew we had to see the place in person. We scheduled an appointment with Sara and it was even better than the pictures! Sara was absolutely wonderful to work with from beginning to end and was very helpful through the process. The cost of the facility is very reasonable for the surroundings. Sara was there with tissues (for me) and blankets (for our guests) at our small wedding on May 17, 2015 where it was a little cooler than normal. We even had a young bull elk wandering around the property during our photos. A fun little secret...the Stanley Hotel is a quick 10 minute walk over a small ridge, where we enjoyed aged whiskey at the Whiskey Bar after our reception at Twin Owls Steakhouse.

Room Tip: The H building is the newest building on property, and has the most modern finishes.

Black Canyon Inn offers multi-bedrrom condos, which are privately owned but run like a resort. We were in lovely F4, which was on 2 levels with 2 bedrooms, laundry room & a full bathroom on the bottom level + porch, living room (with pull out coach), dining area, kitchen, master bedroom & bath on the upper level. The condo was fully furnished, including linens, dishes, soaps, paper towels, kleenex, salt & pepper, a pound of coffee & sugar packets. All we needed was food, drinks & laundry detergent. There is a nearby Safeway in Estes Park where grocery shoppong is easily done. The Inn is located within a mile or so of Rocky Mtn. Nat'l Park's (RMNP) Lumpy Ridge Trail Head (among other hiking spots) which offers stupendous views. The main entrance to RMNP is only about 30 minutes away, leading to Sprague Lake & the famous Trail Ridge Road (which leads to the Alpine Visitor's Center). At & from the Inn, we saw freely roaming deer, a herd of elk & multiple othernforms of wildlfe. The town of Estes Park is a cute touristy town full of shops & restaurants.

Recently visited here with our son's family including three grandchildren. The condo contained all the dishes we needed to cook our meals. The accommodations were roomy with two bedrooms. We we allowed to check in early, which we truly appreciated after our 6:00 am flight. We stayed in A1/2 unit. The king sized bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi tub were very nice. The porch provided a breathtaking view of the mountains which we enjoyed with our morning cup of coffee. Grocery store nearby, and even visited the farmer's market.

Room Tip: Unit A 1/2 had a view of the pond and the mountains King bed, Queen bed, and two sofa beds.
