We decided to elope to Estes Park. When I started searching for hoels/condos, I had no clue, but the staff at Black Canyon Inn made every aspect of our wedding fabulous! The room and view was even more beautiful than we expected! I would definately recommend this for a wedding or just a relaxing vaca! In fact, we hope to return for our anniversery!

We stayed i nthe newly renovated "f" building. Beautiful, clean & relaxing. The in floor heating- dont crank it up too high the p[lace was very toasty!
Easy access to some nice hiking trails as well.
The food at the Twin Owl Steak house was really really good (and I am picky!!)

We stayed here to attend a friend's wedding at St. Bart's church that is adjacent to this property. We were very pleased by the resort once we checked in. My favorite thing was the in-floor heating system in all the condos - very nice to have in very frigid weather. We were also very impressed by how clean the rooms were (we stayed in B1and 2) and loved the attention to details like the Christmas decorations and nice smelling towels. Our condo was spotless and very spacious as well. We will be staying here on our next visit to Estes Park.

We held our wedding at the Black Canyon Inn in mid-October. The weekend before our wedding was cool, but ours turned out beautifully. The room was a bit pricey, but for all of the amenities, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as fully stocked kitchen and sitting room it was worth it. Rosemary was extremely helpful throughout the wedding process. She ran the rehearsal, helped us fix possible disasters and was extremely nice throughout the whole weekend.

Our first morning we went out for a hike and were surprised to find Elk at the entrance to the property. The two bulls stayed the whole weekend creating a really neat sight for all of our visiting relatives from the east and mid-west.

All of our guests were amazed at the gorgeous views from the property and loved the ceremony and ensuing celebrations.

  • Liked — Gorgeous views and wildlife as well as the friendly and helpful staff.
  • Disliked — Some cabins are more difficult to get to, although well paved sidewalks are available some have steep hills.

This place exceeded my expectations and was the perfect end to our 2 week road trip. They normally let the condos for a 3 night minimum stay but they were happy to accommodate our 2 night request. The condo was huge! The lounge area had large comfortable leather sofa and chairs, there was a dining table and the kitchen was well equipped. There were double doors that led off to the separate bedroom with a huge king size bed, a 2nd TV and a bathroom with hot tub and separate shower. It was the largest bathroom I've ever seen in a holiday rental. I have never stayed somewhere so clean - with such a large property, you'd expect something would have been missed but I couldn't fault it - and I'm fussy when it comes to cleanliness! The check in staff were friendly and the location was great. The weather wasn't great when we were there so we didn't get to use the pool and spent both nights in front of the fire in the condo. Perfect - would highly recommend it.

We had a fabulous time and the stay was a very good one. The chidren enjoyed the bridge going over the pond and watching the ducks and birds, with us having six kids people were very nice in that they were noisy at times. They liked the pool and so did the adults, because it was warm in the water. The area is quite beautiful all around the inn. We could get to so many different places around the inn. We would recommend the Black Canyon Inn to them who want to sit the midst of the Rockies and still be close to the necessities of life.

The 2 bedroom condos are very spacious and in a nice setting. The furnishings are 70's style and haven't been recently updated. The couch was uncomfortable, the bed firm. The bed pillows were plastic covered but I was able to find some in the closet which were nicer. The kitchen was fairly well equipped except for pans which included only a frying pan, a 1 quart pan and a 10 quart kettle. The staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the small pool which was very clean and heated. For $250 a night I would have expected a more updated condo and have stayed in nicer places in Estes for a little less money. I would probably find a different property for my next stay.

  • Liked — The friendliness of the staff and their willingness to fix problems
  • Disliked — Out of date, uncomfortable furnishings
