We just returned from a multi-family trip to Pine Haven. It was our first time staying there. Our cabin was clean and comfortable but things are definitely on the rustic side. We cooked several meals in and made due with the cookware, etc but many pans, etc are on their last leg. This may also seem to be a minor point, but I selected the "Preachers Cabin" #11 based on the website photo that showed a living area with a large couch and other furniture that would accomodate our group. However, the actual furniture configuration is not what it is in the photo. No large couch, just a small loveseat and other chairs. It was ok but we were there during a rainy stretch and would have appreciated the extra seating shown in the photo. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location of the resort is very good - close to town and the park. Note there are many, many accomodations in this Fall River area. This one falls somewhere in the middle of the price and quality spectrum. Due to a scheduling snafu, we spent our last night at a neighboring resort, Castle Mountain. While it is a bit more expensive, it is quite a bit more modern and up to date with the common facilities. It suited my tastes a bit more and it would have been worth the extra $$. It is also larger. Pine Haven is a small property with cottages very close together. One last thing to note. When you make your reservation, assure that the cabin you book will be the exact cabin you get when you arrive. Our group booked 2 cabins very close to each other for convenience, but when we arrived, one of the cabins had been rented to someone else (it had room for an extra person, so they presumably shuffled the reservations to accomodate a larger group). We received a "comparable" cabin at the same price - it was ok but it wasn't what we booked, and it wasn't nearly as close. Inconvenient. All in all, this is a good quality resort with a good location at a good value. No more, no less.

We spent three nights there last week and we couldn't be happier with our stay. We stayed in cabin #7, but all the cabins are very rustic looking but have all the amenities you'll need. Even wifi internet! George and his family were very accomodating. They even had a cotton candy & smores party one evening!

Unlike what happens when you stay in a hotel, we got to meet others who were staying there as well. We'd greet each other as we came and went to our different activities during the day and then sit out on our porches and talk to each other in the evenings. We also got to hand feed peanuts to a group of chipmunks that liked to hang out right under our front porches.

We're not fishermen, but other guests caught fish right in the river that runs through the property and had them for dinner that very night.

Pine Haven is located approximately half-way between the town of Estes Park and the Fall River entrance to RMNP. That made it about a very scenic five minute drive to the park. As a willdlife photographer, I learned to keep an eye out for wildlife on that drive as it is not unusual to see deer, elk and even big horn sheep before you even enter RMNP.

If you're looking for a rustic feel to your stay in Estes Park without really having to rough it, you won't go wrong if you stay at Pine Haven.

Super cute, cozy, clean cabins in a great location! Right by Estes Park and RMNP! George is so nice and accomodating. We absolutely fell in love with the place and didn't want to leave. We saw wild turkeys and a red fox right on the property. Our cabin had a full kitchenette, dinnerware and cookware. Safeway is right down the road and we saved a bunch by eating in. My cell never worked at this location and the cabin didn't have a phone, so you may want to plan ahead if "being out of pocket" doesn't work for you. Also, bring a hair dryer if you require one.

My husband and I stayed in cabin 10 this winter and absolutely LOVED it. The cabin was just what we wanted, so cozy and peaceful. We were able to cook when we wanted to in the fully equiped kitchen, I even made cookies and grilled out on the gas grill. I wanted to stay so much longer than we did, just to soak in my surroundings. We also used the huge hot tub every night! The one thing that is going to keep us coming back is not only the great location, clean and adorable cabins, or amazing scenery...it's George and Joan! We loved that they actually cared about who we were. I felt so comfortable with them and "cared for". We are planning another trip to Pine Haven in June and cannot wait!

This place was fantastic!!! I have a family of seven (7) so we chose to stay in the Lodge. The Lodge was a huge fully equiped cabin with room for ten (10) plus. The place was beautiful and very comfortably furnished. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to staying there again this summer. Thanks for everything.
